Nomad Project | TOP 6 voting results are out, let’s go to the next stage!

A total of 54 proposals were received this time, covering diverse topics, including exploration of sustainable life, care for humanities and history, attention to women and ethnic minorities, and self-exploration of digital nomads. Congratulations to the winners of the six groups who are about to embark on a nomadic journey!

The "Nomad Project" jointly launched by Matters and the Sihai Community provides initial funds, a publishing platform, and a community, hoping to encourage more people to go on the road with observation eyes, become a mobile person, travel around the world, and pastor places. Applications were accepted from December 15 last year, and after a one-month application period, voting ended on January 22.

A total of 54 proposals were received during the submission period ( for a list of all proposals, please click here ). The proposals received were very rich, ranging from small towns to borders, from local construction, art and culture, gender diversity, natural environment to cross-generational projects. History, thanks to the participation and input of all the proposers, allows us to see the nomad's belief in trying to explore a different world, and also to see how a responsible digital nomad embarks on a journey with both depth and breadth.

The themes of these proposals are diverse, but they also reflect the common concerns of contemporary nomads. They are shared with you as follows:

1. Caring for the natural environment and exploring the possibility of sustainable life

Some people want to find a balance between nomadic and settled life ; some want to participate in the conservation of finless porpoises ; participate in the construction of local zero-waste communities and activities in Hainan ; and explore a sustainable life model in Yunnan . Or go to southern Xinjiang to experience a ranch transition , or explore how mushrooms shape each other with the culture and local knowledge of the Yi people in Yunnan .

2. A journey of exploration of humanities, history and art

Pay attention to small towns and construction sites, as well as the figures of foreign workers ; go to Indonesia to understand the local impact of the Belt and Road Initiative ; explore the flow of world history in Northern Luzon, Philippines ; Art Residency in Honduras; visit the borders between China , Russia and China and North Korea ; visit He Yin Visitthe ancient tomb attractions in Luoyang ;explore the culture of local ceramic artists in South Africa ; enter Russia after the Russo-Ukrainian War ; record the current situation of left-behind children ;visit the ruins of third-line construction factories around Chongqing ; see the history of the Chinese village in North America, Thailand

3. Attention to gender issues, women and ethnic minorities

Explore the culture and lifestyle of ethnic minorities with the concept of recycling ;record the ethnic fabrics and cultural inheritance of the Bai people in Yunnan ; see female immigrants and sexual minority immigrants on the nomadic road ; understand the current situation of feminism and sex education in Taiwan

4. Digital nomads, self-journey and life exploration

Observing the life stories of digital nomads in Chiang Mai and Bangkok ; realizing "half farmer and half X" in Tangquan, Nanjing ;Ethereum encrypted digital nomad journey ; embarking on the Spanish pilgrimage ; bicycle trip from Chengdu to Kenya ; exploring Israel cannabis industry ; an illustration depicting the life experiences of young people in southwest China ; going to Edinburgh to explore Chinese identity

There are many wonderful proposals. Due to the space limitations, we cannot list them all. You are welcome to click here to read all the proposals.

During the voting period, we also held two Pitch Days , allowing proposers to share their ideas and demonstrate their ambition to challenge themselves and connect with the world. Each proposal is a way to explore the world and a starting point to connect with the place. When nomads implement the ideas in their minds into concrete proposals, the first step of the journey has begun.

The following are the results of this voting. This article only lists the top six and the final number of votes. Please click here to view the final number of votes for all proposals .
