Community Activity Settlement|#YourLifeMotto•What is a good article?

More data, more metrics, more dimensions - take you to enjoy these articles from "another point of view".

Sorry for keeping you all waiting.

Looking at the bonuses of other concurrent events, they have all been distributed one after another, and I am the only one who is still procrastinating, so hurry up to close the case.

■ Antecedent summary

Following the previous article #YourLifeMotto•Everyone has a prize , the bonus distribution of " Everyone has a prize " is:

⚠️ Clap count
Top 40% works: 31 members, 788 LikeCoin per person ,
The rest of the works: 47 members, each with 374 LikeCoins .

Today, the " personal award " is to be reported, and the reference indicators are "the preferences of the three reviewers" and "the preferences of citizens", the former is reflected in the points , and the latter is reflected in the number of collections .

I would like to thank the two reviewers @fide and@IrisChen for their hard work these days. They joined me in making a circle.

⚠️ Review Award - 10 votes points system per person
1st place (3): @車子的女, get 800 LikeCoins .
Second place (2): @yogurt with scrambled eggs @JinlyWong @ 罗罗@DuncanLau tied for 200 LikeCoins each .

Thanks also to the citizens - everyone is a judge . From another perspective, let's see what the public preference is?

⚠️ Favorites
First place (10): @Sun Li, get 1000 LikeCoins .
2nd place (8): @寫路人, each get 1000 LikeCoins .

■ If you want to initiate a proposal: two lessons

At first, the theme of the community activity that I wanted to set the tone was related to "a book", but later Crawley found that someone had initiated this idea, so it was re-drawn.

🔥 Experience 1
We recommend that you check the list of past proposals before launching an event. Although it is okay to use the old theme, there are so many themes that everything in the world can write about, why not change your taste!

And I found that the threshold of "a book" is relatively high, after all, you have to pick up the book; so the concept is relaxed to "a sentence", and even the sentence does not necessarily come from the book... #YourLifeMotto It seems to take shape.

In addition, in the current third season system, the design of "late bonus (participation bonus)" appears, which means that the more people participate, the more overall bonus !

🔥 Lesson 2
In the formulation of the theme, it is not advisable to set a high threshold for writing, unless you do not care about the number of submissions and the total bonus.

■ What is a good article?

As for the distribution of bonuses, in addition to the left-leaning idea of " everyone has merit training ", it also echoes the topic of " what is a good article " that appears every once in a while. This is so subjective!

For me, rather than arguing about the definition of a good article, I tend to take objective data and make generalizations based on observations. From multiple aspects and different indicators , try to mine articles that "meet certain conditions".

Therefore, in addition to the number of clapping hands , two awards for review points and collection times are also added, so that everyone can appreciate these articles from "another point of view".

Do you think this is the end? No no no, the main event has just begun.

I also asked the official for more data - the number of times it was read, the time it was read - let's keep reading.

■ More data, more indicators, more facets

✅ 1. Number of reads

This indicator reflects the " visibility " of the article. There is not much to talk about, and there have been many discussions before. For example, the algorithm of the "Popular" tab on the homepage, the number of users being followed, and the level of social interaction... all have an impact.

✅ 2. Reader strength

This is the name I came up with for it.

Interesting, dividing the "Number of Claps" by "Number of Reads" reflects the average number of clapping your readers have contributed to you each time they browse, so it is called the " Reader Strength " indicator.

Reader strength = "clapping hands" divided by "reading times"

"Hey! Can't one person only take 5 shots at most? How come there are more than 6?"

This is because in order to count as " effective " reads, readers must stay on the article for at least a certain amount of time.

Maybe some of the data from the front just caught the recent topic of "chaotic clapping": after some users came in, they quickly clapped their hands and left quickly. They leave a clapping count, but they don't count as a read count .

However, as @I'm not a cat's movie review said : " Why don't clapping people give me clapping? ". More curiously, why are certain authors and certain types of articles more likely to attract "clapping hands"?

Thinking from another angle, there are many reasons behind the phenomenon of "quick clapping and leaving quickly". If it is compared to "chasing dramas", I throw out several speculations, and I don't think it can be attributed to a single factor .

 • The author has a "brain fan" readership, and every article must be photographed.
 • For a certain reason, the readers are separated and abandoned, but they still agree with the idea, and they are quick and quick.
 • The article is too short, and readers will catch up with it all at once, and the speed is too fast.

There must be more factors, but I just thought, what do you think?

✅ 3. Total time read (minutes)

This metric is closely related to the "number of reads", and the length of the article also affects. In addition, if the content of your article has a " hot discussion " physique, it will make readers want to stop in the comment area below, which is also a positive factor.

Congratulations @fide My motto in life: Intellectual Honesty & Moral Courage is one of the best in the "total reading time" indicator, you might as well try it again.

✅ 4. Eyeball Adhesion (min)

This is another name of my own creation (laughs).

The calculation method is to divide the "total reading time" by the "number of readings" , which means how long the average reader's attention is absorbed by your article. I think " eyeball adhesion " is an appropriate name.

Congrats @陈凯西My life motto | The sentence I blurted out that year: "If you should be sweet, you should be sweet, and if you should be cheap, you should be cheap." With a slight gap, you won the first place in this indicator. If you still If you haven't seen it, go check it out.

Eyeball Adhesion = "Total Reading Time" divided by "Number of Readings"

■ Conclusion: less evaluation, more observation

There are so many indicators to reflect the "good" level of an article.

In fact, the word "good" is very abstract, it is an evaluation, not an observation .

I listened to the book " Non-violent Communication " a few days ago. Because too many people start with evaluation, the other party feels uncomfortable when they hear it, so they start arguing! For details, please refer to Step 1 in the "I Want to Talk to You" Notes .

💧 The first step is "observation", an observation without any value judgment.

what! Can anyone tell me why I am off topic? This is obviously a community activity settlement report, haha!
