Correct understanding of reincarnation: What is reincarnation? Who decides the reincarnated body? How to end reincarnation?

What is reincarnation? Humans can never be reincarnated as animals? Who decides the reincarnated body? How to end reincarnation? This article uses ten questions and answers to let readers understand the most important concepts of reincarnation.

1. What is reincarnation

Reincarnation is synonymous with "reincarnation" or "rebirth", which is the return of the human soul to the earth again and again. And each time inhabits a new body to continue the soul's journey of inner evolution, progression, development, and manifestation. Death is not the end, and birth is not the beginning.

There are three main reasons for soul reincarnation:

(1) He still has lessons to learn.
(2) He still has "karmic debts" to be paid to further balance his karma.
(3) He has not yet fully realized his divinity, and is not fully one with the Self, and thus with all things; he has not yet re-became the true, true He in consciousness.

Reincarnation is a law of nature, not as some people say: "Only certain souls are reincarnated" or "Reincarnation is the exception rather than the general law" and so on. Reincarnation is an ongoing cyclical process that is necessary for every soul.

There are three possibilities for what happens to us after we die:

1. "Atheists" and "materialists" believe that we are nothing more than a mass of matter without a soul and purpose, and when the body dies, we cease to exist.

2. Or there are some religions who insist on the view of "only this life", they believe that the soul will only live once on earth; after the body dies, the soul will either go to heaven forever or burn forever in hell. Usually religions that teach this concept will insist that they are the only true religion and that you can only go to heaven if you join that religion.

3. The third postmortem possibility is: continuous reincarnation. In modern times, about 25–30% of people in the West believe in reincarnation. Reincarnation has been the standard belief of most eastern peoples for thousands of years. It originated in Hinduism and is the oldest religion in the world. Reincarnation is also a central feature of Buddhism and other Indian religions such as Jainism and Sikhism.

People are free to decide which of these three possibilities sounds the most plausible and convincing.

2. Reincarnation doesn’t happen right away

Reincarnation does not happen immediately after death. When the soul leaves the body, it does not immediately enter the body of another expecting baby. There is a window in between, during which the soul experiences a state called "heaven". This state is unknowingly created by our own consciousness; it will be consistent with what "heaven" believed and expected in life.

Theosophy uses the term "Devachan" to represent this state. The duration of this "heavenly" state is determined by the amount and power of the soul's accumulated good karma. The more good karma accumulated, the longer it lasts. The process of reincarnation occurs when the soul has harvested all the fruits of good karma in the blissful "bed of deva". The speed at which reincarnation occurs varies from person to person and depends on many factors. But it mainly depends on the amount of good karma accumulated in the last incarnation, as well as the spirituality and purity of the soul. Some may last for hundreds, or even thousands of years, before being reincarnated; others may even be reincarnated within a few years, or a few months. There's no definite rule here for how long it will be.

3. Humans can only be reincarnated as human beings

There are different kingdoms in nature (mineral kingdom, vegetable kingdom...) that represent specific and different stages of inner evolution. And when the soul evolves from one of the worlds to another higher-level world, it cannot return to the previous world. Because that is the stage of the evolutionary cycle that he has passed and completed. Although evolution is a very slow and gradual process, it still happens in a definite and orderly way.

For example, after the soul enters the vegetable kingdom from the mineral kingdom, it cannot and will not return to the mineral kingdom; and after the soul enters the animal kingdom from the vegetable kingdom, it will not enter the vegetable kingdom again. Likewise, once we have now entered the human realm as a self-conscious individual; after a long series of lives, we cannot and will not return to the lower evolutionary realms, whether animal or vegetable. Because that is the stage we have fully passed through, going through it again has no more effect, purpose, or usefulness for us.

Human souls are never reincarnated as animals, trees, plants, stones, or anything other than human.

4. Karma and reincarnation are inseparable

There is an inseparable relationship between "karma" and "reincarnation", and neither is indispensable. Because the "cause" that a person planted in this life is limited by the length of their lifespan, it is absolutely impossible to harvest all the "fruit" in this life. In the same way, the various situations we encounter in this life seem to be caused not in this life, but in the distant past. The "choice of the reincarnated body" itself is affected by karma, because one of the purposes of our reincarnation is to be able to deal with our past karma in the new body. In order to understand karma correctly, one must accept and believe in samsara; and in order to understand samsara correctly, one must also accept and believe in karma.

5. We don’t consciously choose our parents when we are reincarnated

In spiritual circles, there is a prevailing view: they believe that in the pre-incarnation spiritual realm, each soul can make conscious choices, including who the reincarnated parents are, where they were born, living conditions and circumstances, and other situations . In fact, the soul does not consciously choose these things. Who the parents are, living conditions, etc., are determined by the soul's own karma. More precisely, it is determined by the cause that the soul sowed in the previous life, and its effect must be dealt with in the next life.

6. Memories of past lives

People often ask, "If reincarnation is real, then why can't we remember what happened in our past lives, or at least some of it? 』

The person who asks this sentence can ask himself: "May I ask what you were doing today ten years ago? ' Obviously, in every new body we are reincarnated, there is a new brain. If a person's brain cannot even recall many actions, thoughts, and experiences in this life; then it is difficult for them to expect this brain to be able to remember actions, experiences, and situations in previous lives. Not to mention that the brains used in previous lives were completely different.

All complete and accurate memories of our past lives are actually stored in the soul, not in the current brain. And the extent to which our brains feel the soul depends on the extent of spiritual awareness and awareness we acquired in previous lives. But even in this world, as we make our lives more and more pure, kind, and spiritual, the more likely we are to improve our brain's ability to sense the soul, and the memory of the soul.

There are people who do remember their past lives, and there are thousands of confirmed cases; their descriptions of past life details, names, dates, and events are completely accurate. Younger children, having just been reincarnated, can remember and recount these details. Remembered usually refers to the life before this one. This is not uncommon. Unfortunately, in the skeptical and materialistic western countries, many parents and teachers ignore these things, thinking it's just a child's imagination.

In addition, in our further investigation, we found that if we compare spontaneously occurring past-life memories with external recall methods such as "past-life retrospective therapy", spontaneously occurring memories are usually more accurate and more reliable. Many have therefore concluded that what appears to be memory brought about by retrospective techniques is often only imaginary, subconscious content, or extracted from the "collective unconscious," in theosophical term "Astral Light". details and images. On the other hand, we should be thankful that we can forget what happened in our past lives; because chances are, once we see, or know some of these memory fragments, we'd rather we never know about it.

7. Reincarnation according to our actions and needs

The Upanishads, which are the foundational texts of this Indian philosophy, say that when the soul is reincarnated, each body possesses special properties "according to our actions and needs". Our actions in past lives determine the body shell we have to endure in this life. This will be the temporary container that best suits our body to help satisfy the soul's inner evolution, development and learning of the lessons of this world.

Karma never goes wrong. Our bodies in this world may be weak, susceptible to illness, and even disabled...but this is in line with our behavior and needs in this world. Our bodies may be inherently strong, allowing us to achieve and accomplish various things on a physical level... Again, this is in line with the behavior and needs of the soul in order to keep each individual moving forward at this particular stage of evolution .

Some people feel as if they are a woman trapped in a man's body and vice versa. This condition indicates or implies that the soul has spent successive lifetimes in a body of a particular gender. Therefore, the soul will become particularly feminine or masculine; it depends on what gender he has previously spent in succession. We know the fact that the soul is neither male nor female.

Disgust develops when a very feminine soul finds itself in a male body. This is understandable because of how unnatural and foreign the body is to them. But this feminine soul, in this world, in a male body, or vice versa, is in accordance with their behavior and needs in this world.

One of these needs is to balance the inner masculine and feminine aspects, so that they "reconcile". Because if our physical body goes through several lifetimes and is only a woman or a man, the real progress of the soul cannot be achieved. However, those who decide to be transgender because they cannot tolerate the sex at birth should never be criticized or condemned. Because this kind of feeling, only people in this special situation can really understand.

8. Eternal individuality and now ephemeral personality

It is important to always remember that there is a difference between "eternal individuality" and "ephemeral personality". Temporary personalities or characters formed in this world—such as Xiao Ming or Xiaomei—are never reincarnated.

The reincarnated soul (spiritual individual), although this life is living in the world as Xiao Ming or Xiaomei, will form a new character and role in his subsequent reincarnation. Therefore, we should not make the mistake of thinking that our soul (the eternal individual) is the same as the ephemeral role of the earth. it's not true.

While our souls have acquired certain aspects and qualities in past lives that will carry over to this life; but the personality of this life should not be equated with a reflection of our eternal individuality. Compared with that soul, Xiao Ming or Xiaomei are only temporary roles, just a chapter in the entire "Book of Life", even only one page.

The soul, eternal individuality, is referred to in theosophical teachings as the "self" (Ego); the true and literal meaning of the use of the word "ego" is "I." The soul that continues to reincarnate is the "I" we really exist.

9. Number of reincarnations and world population

The world population has increased by nearly 6 billion in the past 120 years and is still increasing, while it is expected to peak between 2025 and 2050. One of the main reasons for this dramatic increase in population is that people are now generally reincarnated much earlier and faster than they were 100 years ago.

As mentioned earlier, the length of time a soul spends in a "heavenly" state between two lifetimes depends on the degree of spiritualization of the soul. The more atheist, agnostic, or materialist one is, the shorter and harder to measure this interim period.

It is undeniable that over the past century there has been a general decline in spirituality and higher minds around the world. At the end of the 19th century most people in the world had at least some degree of spiritual or religious belief, so their souls were at least somewhat spiritualized and at least part of their consciousness was directed towards something higher, even if Only occasionally. This prolongs the mental state of the soul in the "Deva Bed" after death.

In the West, the decline of the Christian church and the simultaneous rise of materialist science have produced generations of agnostics, atheists, materialists, and sensualists, because between blind religious beliefs, and the atheistic declarations of scientists, there is no Anything can fill the void of human consciousness; the former insists that the literal meaning of the Bible is the Word of God, the latter declares—and continues to declare—that there is no soul, spirit, or real purpose or meaning other than matter .

Today, the average Westerner is agnostic, if not atheist, accepting and believing scientific views and statements without a doubt, just as his ancestors accepted and believed the statements of priests, blindly and without any doubt. Much of the East is now moving in the same direction, albeit to a different degree.

A true, completely atheistic or materialistic worldview would naturally lead to a complete reduction of spirituality and morality, and an ascension of sensuality and superficiality. So it is not surprising when you find that most souls have not developed any spiritual tendencies or qualities in their most recent incarnations. There is currently no spiritual content within them that would allow them to stay in the "deva bed" and therefore return to life on Earth at an unsettling rate.

The more often they return, the more time and opportunity there is to reproduce again, helping other such souls to incarnate. Since 'science' and 'sex' are the gods of the 21st century, this question shows no sign of abating. All major and disturbing problems affecting the world today are, by their very nature, spiritual problems: unless spiritual people have the wisdom and spontaneity to solve these problems in a sensible, selfless and sensible way, human beings will The problem is only going to increase. Simply saying "love and light, love and light" and "we are all one" will not do the job.

10. The end of reincarnation

When the soul perfects itself, purifies itself, clears all karmic accounts, and consciously reunites and merges with its true self, the pure eternal spirit, then, and only then, can it be said that birth, death, and The cycle of rebirth is over. What is certain, however, is that few of us will ever come close to this stage.

The cycle of birth, death, and rebirth is called "samsara" in Hinduism and Buddhism, which means "sea of suffering" and "ocean of conditioned existence." When the individual soul or self has completed the crossing of the "ocean of conditioned existence" and attained Buddha-nature, it can enter into the "infinite ocean of unconditional, non-existence" - Nirvana.

This does not mean that the soul ceases to exist, is annihilated or "stifled", but it means that it is fused and reabsorbed into the Absolute, truly becoming His Oneness. In fact, the soul has always been one with Him, but now it has to forget so that it can know it again.

But what is greater than the man who rejoices and enters nirvana without hesitation, the eternal indescribable happiness, when he has reached the threshold of nirvana, renounces him, renounces nirvana in order to consciously This earth reincarnates again and again. As long as all things continue to exist, he is willing to give up Nirvana in order to help and serve suffering humanity. The man who happily enters Nirvana, thereby leaving everything else for good, is described in Buddhism and Theosophy as a "Pakkabuddha"—a selfish Buddha. And the one who makes the great renunciation and thus becomes one of the saviours of mankind is called a "Bodhisattva" - the Buddha of Compassion.
