Flos Selection - When the time is right, life is naturally smooth sailing

All along, there are countless proverbs and idioms that tell us to make good use of our time. But we often do the right thing at the wrong time and start planning at the wrong time. Of course, the results cannot be recovered. Instead of wasting time hitting the boards, invest time in reading a small book to learn how to use your time. That book is When by Daniel Pink.

This is a work that talks about work and efficiency. This book is a work that allows you to work hard, live well, and truly control your time. This is "When" by Daniel Pink

Why use time to teach you life, because life is full of When? When? It is obvious that he and What (what) and Who (who) are the six methods that we are familiar with and can memorize. We make time-related decisions every day, yet we put When super low on many things.

Our lives present a never-ending stream of "When" decisions--when to change careers, deliver bad news, schedule a class, end a marriage, go for a run, or get serious about a project or a person. But most of these decisions emanate from a steamy bog of intuition and guesswork. Timing, we believe, is an art.

In this book named When, a book about the science of time. The whole book is nothing but a reminder of the importance of "when". What exactly is the right time? What are the consequences of doing the right thing at the wrong time?

Daniel Pink skillfully blends research in psychology, biology and economics in this book, complemented by humorous writing and vivid examples, let us understand how to live colorful, In style. To be successful at work at the same time is to teach you to act at the right time to become the winning team in life, which sounds like a dream. The examples given by Pink are very life-like and don't seem to be relevant to you? That is, you ignore the importance of time in your daily life, and if you don't control time well, you will always miss opportunities.

Timing management is the strongest skill you can have when you are living your life to the fullest

Whole book structure

This book is divided into three parts, namely The Day, Beginnings, Endings, and in between and Synching and Thinking, which represent a person's day and life respectively, and then expand to social discussions. The book has 7 chapters and 6 Time Hacker's Handbook.

The main content uses examples, figures and graphs to illustrate that we do something and make certain decisions, influenced by timing and order of work. Likewise, our choices of when to act can have an impact on our maturity and efficiency. The Handbook section gives us practical advice on how to live and work better. Overall, the book is by no means boring.

The day is designed to allow us to understand how the human biological clock affects our productivity and the importance of rest for productivity. This is useful for managers, both self-managing and managing team members.

Beginnings, Endings, and in between take three chapters as a structure, write the impact of start, middle and end on us, whether it is your one working day, one year, or your life's size decisions are included. For example, it is very easy for people to set goals at the beginning of a week, a month, or a year, and then start a new project on a special day in life, such as a birthday. Things that start at these times are especially motivating to continue. Finally, Synching and Thinking, is about social synchronicity and how it affects our sense of belonging. After reading this chapter after experiencing social movements, I feel very deeply.

Thoughts and practice

This book is not new, and when I was writing this article, I had already finished reading it for the second time. After thinking about it, I decided to buy it because I watched 100 Humans on Netflix. In the interview of the show, I saw the moving Daniel Pink, and I started when I was attracted by his conversation style and content. I swiped the whole book close to binge watch (of course, I will deduct the time I spent on work and handling various projects), and it took about two to three days. Because the content is easy to read, the rhythm and logic are also easy to understand without deliberately playing with terminology, and there is no burden at all. Now the second brush is a key reading concept, with the goal of improving one's work effectiveness.

The content in the Handbook, I personally did the most marking in Chapter 1, 2 and 4. Chapters 1 and 2 focus on the arrangement of the daily routine, which is still useful from the newcomer in my society to the current effort. And Chapter 4, the center of gravity is how to maintain the power halfway on the road. There are some techniques that I have been able to use as I continue to study and develop things.

And the tips in this book are useful to me as a project manager. Because time is money in engineering, and a little misstep can do damage. Plus, calling customers at inappropriate times can damage relationships. So after I read the chapter on The Day, I started calling clients at the right time, and they were much better and more willing to work in different places.

Facing your colleagues, holding meetings at the right time and taking the time to improve efficiency will greatly improve everyone's motivation to hold meetings. In addition, it is necessary to prompt the documents at the right time, and the time interval between the reminders must be well controlled, so that colleagues have to deal with it for you as soon as possible. Because never chasing, it naturally reduces the situation of getting angry and ineffective when urging parts. , and maintain a good relationship.
