Mlog20220817: Say goodbye to fragmented reading

Thanks to technology, reading is no longer a task for the visually impaired.

Before the development of technology, visually impaired people, especially those who are completely blind, had only two options to read: one, someone translates the printed book into a Braille book; two, someone spends time every day reading to him/her word by word.

It is not difficult to imagine how complicated it is to make an ordinary book read by a visually impaired person. Don't forget that there are not many people who know Braille. It goes without saying how much time it takes for someone to read aloud every day, and the reading effect is inevitably compromised.

After the invention of computer screen-reading software and scanners, visually impaired people can scan printed books to make computer files, and then read them out by screen-reading software. Time has been saved a lot. But scanning a book with hundreds of pages is still a waste of time. It is still difficult for the visually impaired to read a book directly.

The birth of the Internet has broadened the reading field for everyone, including the visually impaired who can use the computer through screen reading software. But the obvious disadvantage of online reading is the fragmentation of reading. We can read countless individual articles online, but it is extremely difficult to read a single book. This kind of fragmented reading is good for leisure. I was accidentally knocked on the head by a few sentences of an article, and I was inspired by a flash of inspiration. But if you want your own wisdom to grow and your writing to continue to improve, fragmented reading is far from enough to meet such needs. For example, if I want to write an academic article, I have to read relevant reference books, how can I write it by reading online articles?

It means a lot to me today. I took advantage of my vacation today and spent a little time researching e-book readers. Then I finally found the right e-book reading software. It is Taiwan Readmoo's Move-ink e-book reading application software. I use the IOS version, which is very user-friendly. So I downloaded two books in one go. One is "Unfallen Reincarnation", which is related to practice and life and death education. Another book that analyzes the essential changes to the world caused by the new crown pandemic, Dike "Post-pandemic Effects". Both of the above books deal with areas of interest to me. Come back another day to share the experience of reading e-books.

Thanks technology. Now a completely blind person like me can read a book directly, without having to go through a lot of procedures to read a braille book or a recorded book. Now I can say goodbye to fragmented reading. Even so, the current reading software has not solved the problem of drawing important notes for me. I need another power note software to meet this demand. If you have a useful note-taking software, please leave a message to recommend it. Grateful!
