The title of the movie is "Waterfall", but to me, waterfalls are just noisy, they are more like the rapids and undercurrents of life. In the ups and downs, the two mothers and daughters still tried their best to hold on.

The atmosphere of the whole movie is very sad, but it contains a slight warm light. The protagonist Pinwen (played by Jia Jingwen) was forced to isolate under the epidemic. In addition to the loss of marriage, her daughter's disobedience, and her workplace frustration, some unintentional words became the last straw that broke the camel's back.

"Waterfall" won the Best Feature Film at the Golden Horse Awards last year. Director Zhong Menghong is also a screenwriter. He seems to want to tell people that although reality is ruthless, there is still warmth between people. From the fire at home, being fired by the company, being called by the bank, the house being auctioned off, and being pitted... In this series of life disasters, the plot deliberately arranges the appearance of such warm characters as Xiaojing, the helper, and Director Chen, which makes people feel Especially warm.

Jia Jingwen as Luo Pinwen

Whether playing the schizophrenic mother Jia Jingwen or the daughter Wang Jing who was forced to grow up overnight, they all played well in the 2 hours and 9 minutes of the plot. With their superb acting skills, Alyssa Chia also won the Best Actress at the Golden Horse Awards through this film, which is well deserved.

I personally think that the greatest value of this film is that it allows the audience to have a better understanding of schizophrenia, and then improves people's empathy for these patients; the most rare thing is that through the role of Xiaojing, I can give everyone a better understanding of schizophrenia. He gave a good demonstration and taught everyone the skills of how to "accompany, understand, and care". If I were Xiaojing, I'd probably fail the scene where my mother said that there were snakes in the house.

Wang Jing as Xiao Jing

There is an episode in which Wei Ruxuan, who plays the patient, sings in the hospital corridor. I especially like this scene. It is like the breathing port of the whole movie, as if to tell that life can still be sung no matter how hard it is.

Family love has always been a major issue in life. The most powerless thing is often to kill each other because of love. Although watching this movie from beginning to end is like being hit by a waterfall, the two heroines both exude a stream of water to cover up the soil. The perseverance and composure, after the movie ended, made me feel incredibly healing.

Life is like being hit by a waterfall
