Singh's Oysters

When I first heard about Peter Singer, he said that he was in a compulsory introductory philosophy course in the first year of college, and his book on animal rights can be regarded as a model essay for introductory philosophy. His book is really suitable for beginners, because of its simple prose and relevant subject matter. Is there anything more personal than food delivered to your mouth? And his defense of animal rights is indeed a remarkable family and has far-reaching influence in the world. He is probably the most successful philosopher in the world in promoting his philosophical position.

I still remember that after finishing the Introduction to Philosophy class, some of my classmates kept fasting for six months to one year. Although I eat meat as before, but if you have read Singer on animal rights, you can't turn a deaf ear, and can't pretend to be nonsense anymore. Each classmate is either persuaded by Singer to avoid meat from now on, or he has to come up with a set of principles that will pass others and pass on themselves to defend the meat-eating habit. This is the first experience of my generation's philosophy: what is discussed on paper is not just a conceptual game, but also urges people to reflect on the living habits that have been taken for granted in the past, thereby changing the world.

A few years later, Singer visited his alma mater, only to find out that he can eat seafood, but this is another story. If you have also been persuaded by Singer and thought of doing some merits for the sentient world, you might as well consider eating more oysters, which is good.

You mentioned eating oysters and clams. That seems to me to be something that's clearly not vegan, but I don't see anything wrong with it if I'm right that oysters and clams are not sentient beings and if they are grown and harvested in a way that does not harm the environment.
