The emotion between people is the only tenderness left under the aggression of the great powers! /"Mr. Sunshine" 04

If you look at "Mr. Sunshine" from a historical perspective, some people are bound to think of some events that occurred during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan to stand up against Japan. Or it will extend beyond 1945, what happened on this land. History has always been cruel, and the emotion between people is the only tenderness left under the aggression of foreign powers!

There should be many people like me. When watching "Mr. Sunshine", they will more or less think of the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan before 1945. Because earlier I didn't watch any dramas (or movies. I'm just a taxi driver) that had anything to do with Korea before it was divided into North and South Korea. When I watched "Mr. Sunshine", I wasn't just watching those. The details related to personal emotions also make people interested in this piece of history before and after Japanese colonization, which is similar but not the same as Taiwan.

If you take away the love between Ae-shin and Yoo-jin, as well as the friendship between the other characters, the drama will become a hard-to-digest adaptation of historical facts, filled with the unhappiness of Gojong and the love for those who are also North Korean but pro-Japanese. "Traitors" (let's just describe it) and the grief and anger of not regaining sovereignty may be like most of Taiwan's historical dramas, which often make people feel a little "preaching" and difficult to swallow.

After browsing the history of Japan after 1895 and before the Korean War, South Korea was colonized by Japan for fifteen years less than Taiwan. Facing the wrestling and pulling of foreign powers, it did not have enough force to confront or be able to negotiate at the negotiating table. The bargaining chip was equal. When choosing sides, the final defeat against Russia in the Russo-Japanese War still allowed Japan to fully seize the sovereignty of North Korea. Only then did "Mr. Sunshine" take the story of the volunteer soldiers as the mainstay.

Audiences will indeed look at the Korean perspective of Japanese imperialist aggression, resulting in anger at the Japanese "at that time", or when Hee-sung enters the palace to take pictures of the traitors who later took over the regime, accompanied by guns. When the shutter sound, the "shutter" has become another weapon in history, so that future generations will always remember who betrayed their country.

This history of small countries fighting against foreign powers is even more a reference in 2022: Why do powerful countries always want to annex, invade, and seize small countries? Why is the claim that "you live by the standards I set" still an ideal pursued by many regimes? The barbarism of imperialism (not referring to Japan here) has never disappeared, just waiting for time to rekindle the fire of hegemony.

If you look at it from a script point of view. "Mr. Sunshine" can be used as a reference for the adaptation of Taiwanese dramas or historical facts of Taiwanese films.

Every time I take a history-related drama in Taiwan, from 400 years ago, the Japanese colonization, the 228 when the Nationalist government came to Taiwan, the period of the White Terror... all of them use the way of "extending limbs". story. That kind of tragic feeling that is extremely oppressive and completely squeezes the big era into an event and a piece of history often makes Taiwanese audiences unable to really immerse themselves in it, and can only use a very serious way to ask the audience to stay in front of the screen: You give me a good look at this piece of Taiwanese history. You should know how the Taiwanese people were suppressed. You better know how the predecessors pursued freedom and democracy in these processes... It is always applauded, and it is not too hot to discuss. to think about how those processes affected the fate of Taiwan.

Every time these histories are mentioned, it seems that apart from bowing down to pay infinite respect to history, there is no longer the emotion of “Come on! These past, can only use extremely silent submergence to move forward.

Mr. Sunshine, stripped of love and those overlapping emotions, becomes a dull historical drama, but without the historical part, it doesn't bring out the puzzling connections of these characters. In addition to love, the script also added a lot of very cute, relaxed and humorous bridges, so that the historical facts are not so dull, so that in the oppressed reality, who else can let themselves go forward hand in hand with hope.

In recent years, Korean dramas have released some scripts in Taiwan. "Mr. Sunshine" should be the Korean version and no script was released, so there is no Taiwan version of the script. However, I found that Koreans wrote a complete script for twenty-four episodes according to the plot of each episode on the Internet. I also found that the materials of the film and television analysis course of Baishi Culture University have a Korean-English version (only dialogue).

In an interview, Lee Byung-hun mentioned that the lines in Kim Eun-sook's script were too nauseous and not used to it at first. But I think that in the setting of Youjin's role (or the setting of the other two men), Jin Yinshu himself will use the less masculine parts of men, so that the roles of men and women are established in a relatively balanced state, which also makes the turbulent times. A little more stark about emotional possession and loss.

"Mr. Sunshine" has released two novels adapted from screenplays. Like most dramas in Taiwan, they only focus on rewriting a drama in the "novel" mode, but few people can watch dramas from the perspective of scripts. logic. Sometimes, if you pull away from the scene and the emotions described in the text, you will know more clearly whether "if there is such a dialogue and emotion at this moment" is it in line with the character setting or the current mood?

Like the soundtrack. Every time I talk about the soundtrack, I can't help but want to break my mouth and talk about the soundtrack of the Taiwan drama and film in the past few years (although I have talked about it many times XD) Why does it always use rap as the theme song? Every movie and episode has an atmosphere that it needs to present, and it doesn't seem to be very careless if you always use ready-made ones and don't match them well?

If the soundtrack is removed, I think "Mr. Sunshine" should also lose a little score. After all, if the soundtrack is not done well, the atmosphere is not right.

From the beginning of "Mr. sunshine" (the first song of CD2's soundtrack), the opening music mainly consists of viola. I thought it was only a short opening. In the original soundtrack, there is a complete music of nearly six minutes, which is Ae Shin and You. Jin met in the dark and then met and fell in love with twists and turns, slow and grand to the end. When listening to this song, you will recall the details of the story again.

A few songs are also like those lighthearted and humorous dialogues hidden in historical dramas, matched with the expressions of the actors and the emotions of the characters, making the weight of history a little less, and making the chaotic times still have traces of life, the pursuit of " Possibility to choose your own life.”

But maybe I really like this story very much. Although I think many of the memories after the broadcast can still be cut out, I still think it is a perfect script.

The scene of eating fish in the last episode, although it is a memory, is not the one that has appeared before, it is more like a surprise!

OK So say goodbye to Mr. Sunshine. I've watched two rounds, and I want to watch the third one, but it's so sad, every time I go to the middle and back stages, I'll fall into depression, so I'd better look for other works by Tae Ri and Byung Hun to watch it XDDDDD

I really want to buy the Korean version of the photo album oh oh oh ~~ It doesn't matter if it's all in Korean.

The photo scene is so cute. The adaptation of Taiwanese historical facts can't have such a lovely bridge. No matter how hard the day is to stretch one's limbs, the day has to move forward, but I think a certain part of the drama is the appearance of Taiwanese, it is easy to fall into "everything big will make people fall into hell and can't think about moving forward or can't." In the thinking of getting up and resisting", it seems that life is getting boring!
