Read | Books to read in May

This May, I also reached my goal of reading 5 books. 3 novels, 2 essays. Favorite Zhang Xi's "Maybe Time Cooks Me" and Hong Aizhu's "Old-School Girl Shopping Route".
The first is "Confessions of a Suspect" by Yuan Ziwen

The youth literature written by the twin brothers Yuan Ziwen and Yuan Zihao is very good. I have read a few of them. In the bookstore, I saw Yuan Ziwen's independent creation of "Confessions of a Suspect", which showed that it was a suspense novel, which made me look forward to it. I want to see if an author who writes youth essays can write suspense novels well.

When I opened it, I was a little disappointed to be honest. "Confessions of a Suspect" is a romance novel wrapped in suspense novels. There is more love and love than suspense reasoning. There are also plots of bloodshed, which made me jump when I saw half of it. Not attractive, the ending is also very idol drama, just a mediocre novel.

The second is "Masque Night at the Mask Hotel" by Keigo Higashino

"Masque Night at the Masked Hotel" is the worst and messiest novel I've ever read among Keigo Higashino's novels. It is also the first novel by Keigo Higashino that I read very slowly and skip pages.

I always feel that "Masquerade Night at the Masked Hotel" is too wordy, a chapter describing how many hotel staff serve and satisfy customers. Is this necessary for a mystery novel? There are too few suspenseful parts. Although the identity of the murderer is somewhat special, it is not impossible to make up for the bad novel!

The third is "Probably Time Cooking Me" by Zhang Xi

After I met Taiwanese writer Zhang Xi, I have always liked her writing. "Maybe Time is Cooking Me" is her latest prose work published this year. Writing her own life experience, this is not a chicken soup book, but a life experience and trivial things. But after reading it, it can give you a lot of inspiration.

I like many of the sentences in it, but one sentence I particularly appreciate, Zhang Xi wrote: "Because love is not a celebration of a day or two, it is when you are angry and worry about whether you will not be able to go home without an umbrella, it is also a sharpening Don't let the other party worry in front of your emotions. It's how you cherish it. Taking care of a love is actually not easy, it is the accumulation of many details, and losing a love also comes from the loss of many details. When you enjoy the joy of love, you should also take care of love sharp."

The fourth is Hailian. "Return to 84 Charing Cross Road" by Hanff

In 1970, Hailian. Hanff became famous for her book "84 Charing Cross Road", which gave her the opportunity to go to the UK for a dream trip the following year, and "Return to No. 84 Charing Cross Road" was to record her 40-day trip to London.

She visited the Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral, the Claridge Hotel, Oxford University, the alleys of old London, and of course 84 Charing Cross Road, where she delivered her love letters to Britain and literature for many years.

"Return to 84 Charing Cross Road" should be regarded as a travel diary, Hailian. Han Fu wrote very funny, and she also wrote down her feelings very truthfully, such as the people and places she faced. A book that is easy to read.

The fifth book is "Old-School Girl Shopping Route" by Hong Aizhu

I was attracted by the red book cover of "Old-School Girl Shopping Route", so I bought it. This is a book to recall life memories with family members, including mother, grandmother, grandfather, and uncle, after writing about eating and drinking. It is also a record book on the evolution of Taiwanese food culture.

I like the author's writing, and every time I read a chapter, I miss the food and characters I ate as a child. To be honest, some things can only be missed. Many small snacks that I ate when I was a child can no longer be found.
