平凡香港女生,記下如何與呀貓相愛、逃離香港、成為台灣人妻之路

Dependent Application

Ah Mao's Hong Kong Dependent Application has finally been approved! The whole process took a full two months, mainly because of the need to submit various documents.

The whole application process

2019/4/17 Send Dependent Application Form in Taiwan

2019/5/4 Received the acknowledgment letter from the Immigration Department in Hong Kong

2019/5/20 Received a request for supplementary documents from the Immigration Department in Hong Kong (the first time)

2019/5/22 Send Amao to send supplementary documents to me in Taiwan

2019/5/24 Received supplementary documents from A Mao in Hong Kong

2019/5/27 Send supplementary documents in Hong Kong

2019/6/10 Received a request for supplementary documents from the Immigration Department in Hong Kong (second time)

2019/6/11 Send supplementary documents in Hong Kong

2019/6/17 Received the confirmation result from the Immigration Department in Hong Kong successfully

I need to stress here that the required documents written on the official website of the Immigration Department are "incomplete", so even if you have done your homework and made all preparations, you will still be rejected, because the Immigration Department has no requirements for this approval. The document is not mentioned at all on the official website, you will never know. Well, the ability of the Hong Kong government to do things.

Does the applicant need someone in Hong Kong?

unnecessary. For example, I just signed the documents directly, flew to Taiwan to get A Mao's signature, and sent it to Hong Kong at the Taiwan Post Office. Anyway, the Immigration Department will start reviewing the application form no matter what method you use, so it will not affect the applicant's entry and exit, and the applicant does not need to be in Hong Kong. Of course the signature must be original. As for whether you need a ticket registration or not, it depends on whether you want to track the mail or not.

Required documents written on the official website

Applicant (husband A Mao)

  1. Completed application form for dependents to stay in Hong Kong (ID 997)
  2. Recent photo (the recent photo has been pasted on page 1 of the application form (ID 997))
  3. Photocopy of passport
  4. Photocopy of Taiwan Household Registration Transcript
  5. Photocopy of Taiwan ID Card
  6. Photocopy of marriage certificate

guarantor (me)

  1. Application Form for Dependents' Entry and Residence in Hong Kong (ID 997) Part B
  2. Photocopy of Hong Kong Identity Card
  3. Photocopy of passport
  4. Proof of financial resources: Copy of bank statement, tax slip, salary certificate
  5. Photocopy of address proof

why was rejected

I would like to stress that the official website of the Immigration Department does not include the documents mentioned below, which is very frustrating.

The first time is that the following documents are missing

  1. Applicant/Guarantor Family Status Declaration Form (ID520)
  2. Applicant/Guarantor Additional Statement of Family Status
  3. Acquaintance through Chen Shushu (indicate the date and place of acquaintance, and provide proof documents for the content of Chen Shushu)
  4. Family/marriage/life photos (please provide photos from different time periods, and indicate the date and place)
  5. Owner's consent form and copy of ID card
  6. Explanation letter: loan reason, repayment arrangement
  7. Loan contract and repayment documents

File 1 can also be found in a PDF file on an official website, but file 2 can't be found at all. Documents 1 & 2 are required by both the applicant and the guarantor to fill in and sign.

Document 2 Applicant/Guarantor Attached Statement of Family Status

Documents 3 & 4, I literally laughed when I saw this requirement. This should be the most annoying document for everyone, because he doesn't have a specified form/format, and he doesn't know how much detail to write/how many photos to post in order to pass. I used Google Docs, which I can collaborate with online (but he didn't participate at all). Probably just write a paragraph about the acquaintance first, and then take some air tickets and paste them on the mobile phone, as well as the group photos, wedding photos, etc. over the years. Note that all photos need to be accompanied by notes, for example:

Photo Date: December 2017

Photo description: Get married! !

Photo Location: Hong Kong XXXX

People in the photo: Guarantor XXX (right), Applicant XXX (left)

A cat didn't like to take pictures at first, but fortunately, every time I went to play/travel with him, I would force him to take at least one photo with me, so there were several in total. While arranging photos, I watched the changes in our appearance and body (laughs). This acquaintance has been carefully prepared by the book and kept as a backup, which can be taken out and recollected in the future. It is a good memory.

Then because the cost of color printing is too high, I printed it in grayscale. A total of about a dozen sheets of A4 paper and 30 photos.

Document 5 Because I live with my family in Hong Kong, the same, the owner's consent form is not specified, just write the name of the guarantor, the residential address, the name of the owner and the owner on the A4 paper. The owner agrees that the guarantor does not need to pay rent. The last and most important thing is that the guarantor and the owner must sign on it, and don't forget the photocopy of the owner's ID card.

Documents 6 & 7 are weird, I don't have any loans other than student loans, don't know why I'm asking. In the same way as the owner's consent form, I wrote about the student loans, how much I borrowed, how much I paid each month, and some credit cards to cover my daily expenses. All of them are regular repayments and have a good credit history. , attach the detailed record of the student loan (you can see it after logging in to the Government Portal, there is also a green repayment record, print it), add a signature and you are done.

The following documents are missing for the second time

  1. Demand for rates of landlord (Latest / Past 2 quarters)
List of documents required

In fact, I don't understand why the letters sent to me by the Immigration Department are all in English, and the words are so deep... I checked and found that it was a rates bill, so I immediately made it up and sent it the next day, and the approval was successful in five days!

How long does the approval process take?

The official website says six weeks (shocked), but I found the experience of other applicants and my own experience on the Internet. In fact, it will be approved in about two weeks. The premise is that there is no lack of documents. Remember not to miss the documents, otherwise, like me, it will be completed in two weeks, and it will be dragged to two months.

In addition, I think it took a lot of time to send the application documents from Taiwan to Hong Kong at the beginning, and a few red days in between should have some impact. If you are in a hurry, it is recommended that all documents be sent by the guarantor in Hong Kong. It is safer.

The next step is to wait for the time to get the visa, and then send the document after getting it~
