042|How to find your passion

This article is some recent thoughts on life and work, and I share it with you who are also troubled by "can't find your own passion".

There is no one who does not aspire to a life full of passion and purpose .

Wake up to your dreams every day and start a positive and meaningful day.

We all hope that one day we will wake up and have a "cause of love" put on our pillows by an invisible hand like a gift from Santa. But the truth is, that's unlikely, unless you're lucky enough to have something you love come to you.

So the key is, have you ever "searched" where your passion lies?

Sharing my own experience, I feel that the process of "finding passion" is more of a loop than a non-linear, single journey with a fixed destination.

That is: you are very likely to find your passion in search again and again, and continue to overthrow your passion, and then move towards one thing you love one after another.

Isn't this wonderful?

During this process, you will go through several stages:

1. The starting point of enthusiasm is interest.

Influenced by the outside world and the environment, trigger your interest. Maybe it's a book you've read, maybe a master in a field. Think about the content you spend the most time watching every day, what is it? Is it investment and financial management, sports reporting or artistic entertainment?

Interest represents your inner curiosity and is the initial appearance of "passion". But if you only stop at "interest", then your enthusiasm will never bear fruit.

2. Enthusiasm is complete in deep understanding.

It takes time and energy to cultivate a "passion". Again, enthusiasm is not found by yourself, nor is it scratched out by a scratch card, and it is not what your parents said.

My definition of in-depth understanding is: systematization, specialization, and application.

Any hobby that wants to develop into a career you love must be irrigated by yourself. Just like a farmer irrigating his fields, he can harvest crops. During this process, you may find that your original "interest" is only based on your "misunderstanding", thus losing your "curiosity" in this field. Congratulations, you are one step closer to what you want. After all, knowing what you don't want is also a way to help you understand yourself.

Systematization refers to a systematic, contextual and industrial understanding of the past, present and future development of this field, including knowledge and skills, software and technology; specialization refers to understanding current practitioners, in What kind of labor work is done in this field; applied, refers to what the final output of this field is, and how the technology and skills in this field are applied.

This stage is usually long and boring, but if you feel that your interests and curiosity are slowly getting stronger, then it is very likely that you have found your passion.

3. Enthusiasm will also graduate, and then start the next journey.

Maybe you will think, why the enthusiasm you finally found, after a while, seems to have lost its warmth, and it has become less engaging for you. When this happens, there is a high probability that you have grown enough to grow to the next stage.

As I want to express at the beginning of the article, enthusiasm is not a line with endpoints, but a growth cycle that is linked to one another. If you stay in the "burnout period" and only focus on "burnout", it is actually yourself Put your own growth on hold.

The example I share is that I started from "advertising copywriting", broke into the "creative" industry all the way, and then changed the runway to "interior design" after going abroad. Frankly speaking, I still don't know where my end is, but this does not prevent me from learning new technologies and knowledge.

In the future I may be an interior designer, or a 3D renderer, or an architect.

Thinking of this, don't you feel full of expectations for the future?

Find your passion, the word in this sentence is "find" .

What if you can't find it for the rest of your life? Those fragments of growth are still full of interest and meaning.

May everyone become a better version of themselves and gain peace and love.
