Oil Painting Sharing｜101 Building

Sharing with you my process of turning my favorite photos into oil painting landscapes. In the end, there are small bright spots in my paintings, I hope you will see them too!

Scenery on the way of the sixth section of the Great Vertical Walk

This photo was taken when I went to walk the sixth section of the Taipei Great Vertical Walk. I really like the feeling of 101 framed by the leaves. This is also the first time I have been climbing a mountain by myself recently (I still consider that mountain climbing is a danger. You don’t need to think too much, you don’t need someone to accompany you, you don’t need to follow the pace of others, you can accomplish a lot by yourself, and you can enjoy your own time!

The 101 in the draft was sketched by the teacher for me. The teacher said that the parallel drawing structure will be correct by using a ruler to help me draw horizontally and then straightly. The proportion is also very important! Compared with the previous paintings, the teacher gave less and less help, and I began to let go more and let me paint by myself.

The sky still uses the fan-shaped pen I like to make a gorgeous gradient (the first time I took a photo, it was a little gray, and then I brushed it again), and the building used light color as the bright side, dark color as the dark side, and finally Lightly brush white for a little reflective effect.

In fact, the completion of the entire canvas is progressing very fast, but I spent a lot of time on the details in the follow-up, and I was very happy to paint and began to show my own style of painting, although it is quite different from the photos haha.

When many people see this painting, their first thought is that the color is so pink and tender, and the building feels like jelly or building blocks. Indeed, I added white to almost every color palette in this painting, and the color palette is also done by me. A place where I feel a sense of achievement!

The whole picture is enriched by adding leaves. I really like the leaves stacked in green, blue and purple. There are two large leaves in the foreground~ Sure enough, the teacher's modification is different (see the picture below). I like what my friend said, This painting shows the blending of the city and nature, which feels very harmonious and beautiful
