My 2021 Writing Inventory

This summary was originally an article from last week. It was originally published on 2021.12.31, but because the "Stand News" was forced to suspend publication, it was temporarily changed to share my views on the stand and the metaverse. Then, within a few days, it was the turn of "Zhongxin" to be forced to suspend publication. Not only, but also "Hong Kong Independent Media News", "IBHK Online Media", "Leap Dog Daily", "Enough Jiang Media" that received less public attention. " and "Juyan Times" were also suspended within a week. As a citizen media follower, I should have recorded something, but I found that I was no longer able to write about it.

There is a saying that "one death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a figure", I often remind myself to refuse to be numb and keep the edges and corners, but after a series of incidents, it can only be summarized as "at least eight media deaths", saying Without the slightest comment or the last sentence of feelings, I had to retreat to myself and sort out my writing situation last year.

Taking stock of it, a total of 50 articles will be written in 2021, with about 120,000 words. In English, only one article was written, and the other 6 articles were translated and published by others.

50 articles, in other words, the rhythm of one article per week. The first half of the year is a column published every other week in "Apple Daily" and other articles from time to time; in the second half of the year, after #decentralizehk became a weekly newspaper, I forced myself to be regular, every Friday Published, for the time being, the computing power will not be lost. In fact, sometimes I feel very tired or in poor condition, but I am always afraid that once I miss the deadline, I will not be able to write again. Can someone help.

As you all know, my articles come and go in three areas: freedom of the press, financial freedom, and democratic freedom. Among them, there were 18 articles on freedom of the press last year, 18 articles on financial freedom, 9 articles on democracy and freedom, and 5 articles on "The Diary of a Stupid Man" that were not published in the weekly newspaper. At the end of the article, I categorize all the articles, and put the most read articles in the front, so that everyone can find them easily.

Not surprisingly, the financial freedom category is the most popular. This is human nature. What I can do is to go beyond the discussion of "enough money to retire" and expand the interpretation of freedom.

My consolation is that the freedom of the press category has performed well, and I hope this year's attention to this topic will not pass away with the death of a number of citizen media; even if you are disappointed, don't despair. Now that the platforms have collapsed one by one, the masses should be broken up into pieces. Through the publication of no big platform, everyone can be the media.

As for democracy and freedom, the response was significantly worse, and it even tasted like box office poison. However, although I will look at the data, I will not be carried away by the data. Issues that lack attention but are important to the world will continue to be written, or even more.

In the end, although I have nothing to say about the distinction between life and work, I deliberately did not include it in the weekly newspaper's "Diary of a Silly Man", but I have repeatedly said that I like to read it. I'm not sure whether I should write more in line with the gossip, or include it in the weekly newspaper. I'm always afraid that it would be a bit narcissistic to distribute life news to readers who should be concerned about blockchain and freedom, and waste everyone's bandwidth. But since everyone has said this, let’s send the meat photos here for the time being. That’s my normal writing routine, although the sharp-eyed will know that it’s 2019 or before.

I have to mention that I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the readers who support my monthly tuition fee. By the end of 2021, there are 91 admiring citizens who directly support me, paying 750 mg. Take the community, use the community, I directly support 43 media or authors, 370 mg per month. However, I have just been forced to cut off the monthly fee for the stand.
