Two or three things about me as "Little Zhao Yun in Internet Cafe"

(edited)
At that time, even if minors consumed in Internet cafes, they were still the lowest-level creatures. It was legitimate to let you off the plane at any time. This was called "doing things according to the rules". It can be seen how the rules are used as a tool of class rule to inflict violence on the people at the bottom.

To tell you the truth, I have been a "game master" since I was a child.

When I was still in kindergarten, my brother used to sit with me in a smoky Internet cafe and play "Legend". It can be seen that video games are a family heritage for me. Except for the DNA that my parents gave me, this thing is engraved in my blood. In the past few years, China's official media liked to say that "inheriting the excellent family style", then "Taoist" and "dog" are my excellent family style.

"Taoist" and "dog" in the legend

Later, when I got older, I followed a few cousins and classmates from school in the arcade hall all the year round. At that time, fighting games and side-scrolling action games were popular, such as The King of Fighters, The Three Kingdoms War, and Knights of the Round Table. It was a lot of fun to play. Looking back now, I found that it was the end of the arcade game era. Sideboard clearance games soon fell out of fashion, and the original production companies of these games also shifted the focus of production. For example, the Taiwanese company IGS, which produced the Legend of Shi’er on the Westward Journey, turned around to create more fashionable dance machines and racing machines; Capcom, which has left behind classic works such as Street Fighter and Knights of the Round Table, has devoted itself to researching and developing various skin-changing machines. "Pachinko" (gambling game) is here; SNK, the production company of Metal Slug and The King of Fighters, even went through a bankruptcy.

Three Kingdoms War

In those days, children didn't have much pocket money, and they were reluctant to buy toys, let alone play games. But when I go to school every morning, my family will give 1 yuan for breakfast, I simply don’t eat it, I endure hunger until noon, and the money I save can buy 6 coins (we call it a brand) in the arcade hall, even if I am hungry. The red-haired gangster in the arcade stole 1, and I can have 5 left. If the skill is good, I can clear the "Three Kingdoms War". When I really have no money, I go to my uncle's house to play the autumn breeze. My uncle and aunt have the habit of depositing coins in small tin cans. At that time, the Internet cafes were also cheap. 5 yuan can be used for an afternoon machine. When I went back to my hometown Internet cafe some time ago, I found that I was charged 5 yuan per hour. I thought, when did games become such an expensive thing?

What the arcade looked like at the time

The days of going to Internet cafes are gradually falling behind in arcade halls. At that time, there were many types of popular games, such as the moba-like Warcraft Chenghai (which can be said to be the prototype of the League of Legends), the crossfire of the gun battle, and the 2D horizontal version of Adventure Island. But my favorites when I go to Internet cafes are Grand Theft Auto 3: Vice City (the predecessor of the now famous GTA 5), and Dynasty Warriors. GTA3 is an open world. You can hijack cars on the road, fight, use machine guns, and shoot down the police's Flying Tigers helicopter. At that time, I had never seen such an exciting game, so every time I went to an Internet cafe, I had to open it. Play a few games and feel the horror of American capitalism. And Dynasty Warriors is because of the "double mode", you can play with two people with one machine, which greatly relieves the financial pressure on me and my classmates. Moreover, when I just came to the Internet cafe from the arcade hall, I was still used to two people shouting at the same screen while smashing the keyboard. It was really hard to do it alone.

Once, the inspecting boss noticed our "violent behavior" by smashing the keyboard, yelled and scolded us, and then kicked us out. No way, at that time, even if minors consumed in Internet cafes, they were still the lowest-level creatures, and it was legitimate to let you off the plane at any time. This was called "doing things according to the rules". It can be seen how the rules are used as a tool of class rule to impose violence on the people at the bottom. I have known this since I was a child, and it belongs to the precious spiritual wealth brought by the game. But even so, I still insisted on going to Internet cafes to play games, because going to Internet cafes was a kind of "ban" at that time, breaking the rules of schools and parents, and it was a cool thing. If you meet a classmate when you come out of the Internet cafe, you have to stand up straight, then wave your hand to say hello to the opposite side, and then turn your head to lift the heavy curtain of the Internet cafe and walk in - let him know, you just feel comfortable here, don't you dare go in. Therefore, I am also known as "Little Zhao Yun of Internet Cafe" with seven in and seven out.

But the good times didn't last long, and soon I tasted the bad results of "swagger" - I was caught. It was a peaceful afternoon on a weekend. My family and I told my classmates to play. In fact, Dynasty Warriors was opened in an Internet cafe. The character I still remember is Zhao Yun, and I even dragged a strange and idiotic netizen who has no money to surf the Internet to fight with me, making it fun.

I used the jkl spear to shoot like a dragon, killing Cao Cao's army in a daze. Just when I was complacent, I suddenly felt a chill behind me. I turned my head and saw that it was my amiable grandmother who was watching me "kindly". She took me back to her bookstore like a chicken, took a two-meter-long wooden stick, and made me kneel at the door of the bookstore and swear never to go to an Internet cafe again. I looked up at my grandmother's figure. Behind the tall stick was the setting sun. I suddenly felt the majesty of "Guan Gong's rebirth" and wanted to stand up and ask aloud: "Second brother Guan, the lord and Where is Ah Dou!" But obviously, I didn't dare. The whole junior high school has never been to the Internet cafe again, and I was terrified.

Later I found out that my grandmother met two of my classmates on the street and asked me where I was, and she easily located my den. But I don't blame them, who made me always think of myself as Zhao Yun, too high-profile. The only thing that made me brood was the idiot who played the Three Kingdoms together that day. He sat on my computer for free with two hours of internet fee, and played happily all afternoon, but I didn't even have time to ask his name. If God gives me another chance, I will definitely ask him to climb when he is 0.01 cm away from my chair.
