Reading Life | ckxpress Reading Series #3

This is my impression after reading "The Trial of Democracy: The Hit of Juno Motion 16".

Every Friday @high reconstruction will publish an article, the content revolves around four themes: freedom of the press , financial freedom , democracy and freedom , and the diary of a fool . For those who have ideas and like to pursue value, his articles contain a lot of "gold", will not waste your time, and are worth the money, not because it is free, but because it stimulates your thinking.

Reading his articles often leads to a lot of "inner dialogue". This is my impression after reading " The Trial of Democracy: The Hit of Juno Motion 16 ".

The Juno Network in the Cosmos ecosystem is a smart contract blockchain, and I didn't know much about it before. However, with the recent passing of Bill #16, the incident caused a lot of discussion among people in the currency circle, causing people who didn't pay attention to it, including me, to pay attention to the "eight hanging".

Proposal #16 is to vote for a giant whale (an individual or organization that holds an extremely large amount of the coin and has an impact on the ecology and the price of the coin.) The JUNO cryptocurrency with more than 3 million coins will be forcibly confiscated to 50,000 JUNO coins. The motion was passed on March 16 with a result of 40.85% in favor, 33.76% in opposition, 3.59% in veto, and 21.79% in abstention.

I don't know how this event affected you? Do you still believe in "Not your key, not your coin"? Do you still have confidence in the decentralized governance system, liquid democracy, etc.?

Is this a "democratic" victory? Is it an event that demonstrates "righteousness"? Or "democratic" violence? Is it a game where people can win by how loud they are?

I am in favor of Gao Reconstruction's position and analysis. I admire his calm and objective attitude, with clear reasons.

This incident reminded me of a student leader who was asked by a reporter during the 1989 pro-democracy movement, "If there could be a referendum now, what do you think?" He replied, "The result must be failure. Because in our country the vast majority of Democracy has not yet been educated in democracy, and once the referendum votes, they will only follow instructions. Democracy needs education.”

Democracy is not the most perfect system, let alone absolute. It's just a relatively good system. No matter in the physical world or the digital world, democracy cannot be achieved in one step. It requires a slow and long growth process, and often requires a price. Democracy is not only promoted and promoted, but also defended. Otherwise, it is easy to be used by tyranny.

Don't think that the digital world and the blockchain world will be better than the physical world. Because wherever there are people there will be problems. Blockchain technology cannot solve the ugly problem of human nature, it can only suppress the corruption of human nature to a limited extent. Blockchain technology can solve the problem of "trust", but there are still many ways for people to use these "trust" technologies to deceive people.
