The Separation of Berlin｜Museumsinsel on Postcards

As one of the capitals of Europe, people say that Berlin does not have the classical temperament of Vienna, the financial power of London, the beauty and romance of Paris, the beauty and tidyness of Amsterdam, the city style and the lovely fairy tale of Prague, and the antique flavor of the thousand-year history of Rome. Completely incomparable.

In fact, many people think that Berlin's city appearance is ugly, mixed with old and new, but the old ones are actually rebuilt, and the new ones are not modern enough.

However, probably few people know: Berlin's rivers, canals and lakes are interwoven into a water transportation network with a total length of nearly 200 kilometers. There are nearly 1,700 bridges in Berlin, which is far more than the water capital of Venice and the canal capital of Amsterdam.

In those years, whenever I walked out of the Law Library of Homburg University at night, crossed a certain bridge on the Museum Island, and looked eastward, I was always amazed by the beautiful scenery of Berlin time and time again. At this moment, I will remember again when I first came to Berlin, in the drizzle, I walked along the river bank to the subway station with high heels and small steps, and the afterglow of the sunset, sprinkled on the water and the Museum Island, is my love. One of the reasons for going to Berlin.

I had hoped that I would never miss such a city.

And I did not miss it.
