“Remember me on this computer"
but not in the books shelved and displayed
in the Amazon Store next door.
Remember this ordinary rainy day,
how it seeped into the endlessness
of what's said to be a flying year
and a blood burning season.
Please remember the college student,
her blood and flair, tucked away
in the hymn sung through today.
That day, that night, how her despair
was thrown into an ancient well that only
promises silent answers.
There are no silent answers. None to remember.
They speak of rights and wrongs, of
guns and sacrifice. They tap on each other's
exquisitely suited shoulders, too soft
to make a sound.
They speak of blood, of product, of history,
of remembering, of life...
And they continue to live.
