What exactly does Show More have to do with Gap?
I think their mutual friend should be a library that can only drink alcohol . One day I mentioned this "library" on my Facebook friend's page, and I started listening to the podcast every Thursday. Two hosts plus a guest, with different themes: turn to adults (become an adult), why are scumbags always loved? Marriage or feud? and many more. This kind of program is different from "Talking about the East and the West". While the host and the guests have serious discussions, there will be no shortage of hilarious scenes. This is due to the host.
Recently, this program has held two new book talks: Teacher Pinglu's "Gap" and Mr. Li Lu's "Show More".
~~~~~~~~~~
I only read one of Mr. Pinglu's works: "The Bare Heart". It's a book that opens a black box. The book is as follows:
That morning, while having breakfast on the balcony, my mother put down her fork and suddenly spoke the words that led to all the truth that followed. Mother said, "Don't bury your father, do you doubt that you were not born by your father?" Without thinking for a second, you replied, "No!" Because you never had such doubts. In the next second, a flash of light, like a reflex action, you ask a question that your mother was caught off guard. You then ask, "Then, am I your own?"
The result... Yes, the one sitting across from her turned out to be the adoptive mother.
Such a scene, you may think it is a soap opera. In fact, it may happen every day.
It's just that you're not the protagonist.
Teacher Pinglu revealed his life experience through words, while using words to heal his pain. The darkest corner is exposed in front of others. Readers walk with her through the experience.
When the wound seemed to be healed, the next trial came: cancer, and two cancers within half a year. She used words again to write this experience. She writes in the foreword:
You think your pain, your heartbreak is unprecedented, then reading is the way...
- James. Baldwin <br class="smart">Baldwin went on to say that reading brings connection, and the words in the book tell us that what tormented me may also torment another person; to be able to face one's own wounds is to understand that others have wounds too .
That's how it is with me, words are the best companion and the best connection. What's even more amazing is that in the most difficult situations, the book in my hand is often my antidote. It removes anxiety, it relieves pain, it miraculously takes me out of the trough, and words connect with my heart and give me the strength to heal me.
When writers talk about illness, they always talk about life and death, family. I remember that after Mr. Jiang Xun was seriously ill, he wrote "This Life - Awakening of the Flesh", which explored somaesthetics from different times and cultures. Teacher Pinglu also uses her method to discuss: using books and words. So in this book, you will see Teacher Pinglu constantly citing classics in the article, throwing her schoolbag, and providing sources and annotations.
After I finished reading, I didn't feel sad, but only felt that people who have the habit of reading may be able to overcome many difficulties.
So what about Show More? I just bought it after watching the video (link below).
Who is Li Lu? He claimed to be in the "victory group in life": he did well in the entrance exam, got into a good university, and graduated with a Ph.D. But after graduating, I couldn't find a job, and I ended up in a small civil servant. Of course, I was depressed. Fortunately, there was a "face book" that saved him, allowing him to write his views in a certain space. Because there are so many things I want to talk about and write about, "See More" will appear in every article. This book is a collection of long essays written by him on Facebook.
He's such a weirdo who likes to read a bunch of stuff he claims is useless; and his background, experience, makes him understand a little bit of truth from it. Those long texts are the essence of his repeated thinking, and they are not difficult to understand. To a certain extent, the writing is average, but when you read it, it will be "cool" and straightforward. It seems like "but I don't like it" a text:
I do not want to die dry. I don't want to live without a soul.
I can sit in the office and work like a machine. Twenty-five years later in exchange for (very stable compared to our generation) pensions and benefits. But at that time, I was already a sixty-five-year-old old man, and I took the rest of my youth to jail, and after all my youth was wasted, I used the money I earned to see a doctor.
This is definitely not the life I want.
Straightforward enough? This passage reminds me of the lyrics of Teacher Li Shouquan's "A Day in the Life of an Office Worker":
Is it a fixed job for everyone? Is it a life that everyone has to work? I can't remember the dream when I was young. Do I also want to be a helpless spinning top?
Why why you can't you can't be brave
With such a love of reading (he claimed that he did not have a collection of books, but merely memorized it) and such a life experience, he must be a thinking person who always has a set of opinions. For example, he mentioned that in Taiwan's exams, there are points deducted. He pointed out that students who read well will not be affected, and those who read poorly will be fine, but those who study hard and continue to read will be punished with an uncertain answer. Candidates will therefore decide to leave blank. Then, he extended to Taiwan's social problems: not doing well, "if you are not sure, it is better to choose blank". That's why the official always says "we will discuss it again" and "reconsider it."
In fact, it is not so much a Taiwan issue as it is in other places, so it may not necessarily be the effect of deducting points. However, this article will cause readers to think about what causes the government to delay if it is delayed.
If you are interested in reading his long articles, you can go to his Facebook page first; if you feel "appetite", buy the book to read.
However, if you select a book to read, you will not be able to "show more".
