When I do this, I always feel very disturbed, because an obvious falsehood flows and overflows in the process, as if something important and serious has been accomplished, but in fact it only superficially appeases the parent's inner fear - fear of their own Children achieve nothing (by the standards of the system) - but at the cost of giving up "the sincerity that touches the heart of life."

When night falls,

supper has been eaten,

the day will come to an end,

The birds have already returned home,

How would you most like to spend this time before bed?

In order to meet the school's arrangement,

Desperately rushing homework?

Or afraid of being compared,

Constantly supervising children to review?

I know I can ask him to read a Chinese text,

Good to explain to the kind Chinese teacher;

Or forcing him to practice an instrument that was arranged and he had no interest in,

So that the kind music teacher will not be too disappointed;

Or urge him to go online to collect information for a project,

So as not to lower the score and grade of the subject due to the failure to submit the report again.

However,

When I do this,

I always feel very uneasy,

Because an obvious falsehood flows and overflows in the process,

It seems to have accomplished something important and serious,

But in fact it only superficially appeases the fears in the parents' hearts——

Fear of one's own children (by the standards of the system) accomplishing nothing—

But at the price of giving up "the sincerity that touches the core of life".

Is it too expensive?

I think.

I remember when my child was in fifth grade,

Whenever the bedroom lights go out,

he lay in bed,

stretch your body,

pull up the quilt,

He would say with admiration:

"Ah~ This is THE life!"

later,

I'll say "Ah" the moment he lies down,

rush to say:

"I know what you're trying to say..."

Then,

We will say in unison:

"This is THE life!"

According to the Cambridge Dictionary,

This phrase is an admiration when a person is very satisfied and enjoying the situation he is in at the time.

Why we (the society) always feel that we and our children (and especially the little ones)

Don't you deserve this kind of satisfaction?

Or at least we feel that we should be "worthy" to have a little bit of this beauty after hard work?

However,

Satisfaction is the force that touches the core of life.

Before going to bed last night,

He shared with me some of his thoughts when he read "The Legend of the Condor Heroes",

He said he thought the novel was very well written,

The part written from Guo Jing's point of view has a lot of fighting scenes.

very exciting,

And what was written from Huang Rong's point of view,

It explained the deep relationship and resourcefulness in the story,

In this way, it is easier for him to understand the ins and outs of the story,

And because Guo Jing and Huang Rong's personalities are so different,

Make the story richer.

This is a very sincere after reading!

Because no one asked him to read that book,

No one asked him to hand in a reading report,

It was he who really felt it.

This is a very sincere presentation!

Because it's not for the grade sheet,

nor to please anyone,

I want to express myself as best I can,

so that those who listen can understand,

thereby sharing his discoveries and joys.

such reading,

chat like this,

There are no documents, reports, works, achievements to display,

There are no recognized transcripts, certificates, and awards that can "prove" one's ability to others.

Is this really "useful"?

His face glowed as he spoke,

I reminded myself at that moment to remember this situation,

When I left his room,

I recall,

and ask yourself:

Is this worth cherishing?

If something gets in the way of that satisfaction and brilliance,

I will have the courage not only to question,

Rather remove it?

Do I believe this situation is showing me that priceless treasure?

"The kingdom of God is like a man who rejoiced when he found a treasure hidden in a field and sold all he had and bought the field" (Matthew 13:44).
