JiuMeowan News 2021/09/21|The liquor store was converted into a workcation base
In September, there were two reports about the transformation of Japanese sake brewing buildings into workcation (working and vacationing) bases. Let’s record them:
Yamagata Prefecture "Sakuragawa Brewery"
Located in Oguni Town, Yamagata Prefecture (within the scope of the Yonezawa Domain), Sakuragawa Brewery was founded in the middle of the Edo period and in 1706. The sake storage built in the Meiji period was renovated into a workcation base (tentative name HAKKOLAB) by YOKAMOS in the same town. The town festival will be held on 9/14, and the renovation is expected to be completed in February 2022. The two-story brewery building has a total interior area of 153 square meters. Currently, the 23 seats on the first floor are used by general guests, and local and creative dishes are served using sake brewed in sake brewing.
The second phase of the project will be to renovate part of the space of the brewery's mother house and turn it into a space for accommodation, workshops, and sales of goods. The total construction cost is 100 million yen, of which 50 million yen is the テレワーク promotion grant (telework promotion subsidy) from the country.
Saga Prefecture "Small Town Distillery"
"Koyanagi Shuzo", located in a small city in Saga Prefecture, was founded in the early 19th century, and sells Japanese sake shanks "Takasago" and "Takasago Gold Pulp", but now they do not brew their own wine, but outsource manufacturing, and then bottle it in the brewery. .
There are two wooden two-story buildings in the brewery, "Tibet" and "Meijizo", which have been designated as registered tangible cultural properties, and have been used for concerts, rakugo performances, art exhibitions and other events in recent years. The two buildings are currently lent to the "Small Town Tourist City Architecture Design" for free, and the Meiji Zanghui among them has been converted into a workcation office that can work remotely.
If there is a chance in the future... See which brewer is willing to sponsor free seats and accommodation so that the brewer can stay there for a limited time, in order to assist the brewer in social media in exchange for publicity in traditional Chinese/English, and do a Japanese sake introduction/travel lecture on site Is it feasible?
