The audience's impression of the "Teaching Field" series may be "white-haired one-eyed guy" Kimura Takuya, all kinds of sick perverted police officers, or popular new-generation actors, but the original work as the "foundation" of the whole play has been ignored. , It is a pity, after all, without this novel that treats the police academy's "campus growth" as a suspenseful reasoning, there is no possibility that it will be made into a series by Fuji TV.

The original work of "Teaching Field" is written by Hiroki Nagaoka, a new mystery novelist. Said to be "new", in fact, he made his debut in 2005 with the single book "A Lie in the Sunshine", just because his work was not favored by the film and television industry, and his reputation was not as popular as the popular writers such as Keigo Higashino and Kamei Minato. The Chinese novel "Teaching Field" (Volume 1) appeared in Taiwan as early as 2014, but no one was interested in it until it was announced in 2019 that it would be made into a series.

I remember that I immediately bought the original novel for a sneak peek, so I know that the drama version is not a direct adaptation of the text, but made a lot of reorganization and changes, and even merged characters and plots. The effect depends on personal perception, but if you like the drama In the case of "Teaching Field", you should also be interested in the original plot, right? Therefore, I try to analyze and sort out the differences in adaptations based on published Chinese novels and Japanese online book reviews. I hope everyone can enjoy the fun of comparing and adapting. (Does this count as an advertisement for a novel?)

Basic setting changes

  1. The main stage of the drama "Jiaochang" (2020) is the 198th short-term course of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police School, but the novel "Jiaochang" is set to be the 98th period and "Jiaochang 2" is the 100th period.
  2. At first, the novel did not clearly explain that Instructor Kazama's right eye was a prosthetic eye, and even at the end he took out the prosthetic eye in front of the school police, and everyone (including the audience) knew that "it turned out to be a prosthetic eye!", but the show made it known very early on. Kazama's right eye is a prosthetic eye.
  3. In the play, the instructors of Fengjian often take the application form for dropping out of school and call the school police to "drop out", "When will you give me the form? Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow? You can also do it now." There is no "golden sentence" in the novel! (There are people who are asked to drop out of school, but there is no application form for dumping people) Is the drama version set up a plot so that comedians can spoof it later? !
  4. There is no scene where the Kazama instructor plays kendo in the novel. The setting of the drama version is naturally to let Kimura Takuya, who has been practicing kendo since childhood, play well (or be handsome).
  5. At the end of each unit, they will not tell you directly about the fate of the protagonist. When the protagonist is replaced in the next unit, he knows who has been dropped out from his mouth, and there is no clerk who is like "Death" in the drama version. The plot of the name tag on the desk.

Changes to the previous unit

"Teaching Field" "The first chapter. Road inspection (Japanese for "professional")

It can be said to be the most loyal unit to the original work. Lin Qiandu went from cowardly to crazy and was almost the same as Hirata Kazuo in the original work, and the good man who thought to repay his kindness to the son of his benefactor, Miyasaka Ding, who was assigned by the instructor to work as a "spy", and Kudo Asuka are also very competent. .

"Teaching Field" "Second Chapter. Prison question>

In addition to appearing in the order of the novels, it is also a unit that is very loyal to the original novel: Kusumoto Shinobu, who is short and takes revenge as a kind older sister, is tailor-made for Yuko Oshima! And the pitiful Saori Kishikawa also matches Aoi Wakana very well! The misunderstanding between the two, the terrifying "prison question" reappears, and the plot is also consistent with the novel in order to prevent the "crushing injury syndrome" as a ruthless result.

It's just that Kishikawa and Kusumoto meet again after dropping out of school, and even the "talk in the future" of reconciliation is an original for the drama. To be honest, to be able to reconcile like this after a life-and-death struggle is too hypocritical, right?

"Teaching Field" (Volume 4. Schedule>

Miura Shohei plays a former boxer, a father and an overage school police officer (32 years old), which is probably the same as the original book. The original book is Kashimura Takumi played by Nishibata Daigo. The reason for the name change is unknown, but the "dispatch dealer" is a senior pit The plot of the lower part of the sun is not much different.

However, Hibukata in the novel was not forced to drop out of school, unlike in the play where he knelt down and cried to the Kazama instructor, begging him to give him "the last chance to work hard". After all, it was Miura Shohei who played the role of Hibuka.

The plot of the latter part is basically changed

Since the original work has entered the 100th issue of "Teaching Field 2", the changes in the drama version have begun to become larger. The police scenes left over from the previous chapter are almost original, and there are more interesting things that have nothing to do with the key plot of the unit.

For example, after the calamity, Nanmoto has become a humorous character who often votes for himself "the only vote" in the inter-class voting! Of course, she continued to be the "spy" of Instructor Kazama because she was Yuko Oshima.

Some of the character plots are combined and broken down by unit below.

"Teaching Field 2" <Chapter 1. trauma>

In the original book, the student police officer who was found to have his handbook stolen by Tetsuhisa Nanhara (Marina Inowaki) was the one who had his handbook stolen from him. It was Atsushi Kirisawa, who turned from a physician to become a police officer, not Miyasaka Sada, who started the "Flying Life"! The characters have changed, and of course the details have also changed. Miyasaka has become an unfortunate ghost who is prone to danger to his life. In the end, the instructor Kazama told him "Don't die!"

As for the funny plot of Nibuba's use of omurice to simulate all kinds of wounds, it originally belonged to Kirisawa, who did not exist in the drama version. In retrospect, it is more reasonable for the former physician to spoof omurice like this.

"Teaching Field 2" "Chapter Four. admiration>

Many viewers thought that the plot of the two female police officers vying to admire Kazama instructor was originally created by the crew for Kimura Takuya, wrong! This unit is very faithful to the original!

Whether it is the self-confident and beautiful backstage Nozomi Hisinuma (Kawaguchi Haruna), or the mediocre appearance Yuna Eedamoto (Tomita Nozomi), from the sign language "respect/like", to competing for class representatives on TV or serving as magazine covers, or In the end, Hishinuma saw the reflection of Instructor Kazama in the eyes of Edumoto, and it was all the plot of the original book! It's time to smile!

I also see that the novel has developed into the second volume. It is no longer a simple description of how perverted the policeman's psychology is. It is definitely a worry for the drama version whose selling point is "how the instructor catches the neurological policeman". In fact, "Teaching Field II" "The problem also stems from this.

"Teaching Field" (Chapter 6. Back to the Water"/"The Teaching Field 2"" Chapter 5. On the plane / Chapter 6. Occupation>

Although Yota Tsuzuki (Ryosuke Amifang) is the character of the 98th issue of the original book "Teaching Field" and the protagonist of the final unit, the plot has nothing to do with "Backwater" at all (sorry I can't understand the plot of the original "Backwater"), but misappropriated it. In the 100th issue of "On the Flight", the "Mock Murder Incident" field special class, coupled with a similar scene in "Job", and then created the original Tsuzuki because his father was bullied by the police, and vowed to become a policeman standing next to the suffering people.

He was entangled in the final confrontation with the instructor Kazama. In the 198th issue, the four police officers (Miyasaka, Kusumoto, Hisinuma, and Hibuka) who took the application form for dropping out of the school had feelings for his partners, all of which were original plots. Of course, the novel does not describe the graduation ceremony in detail, where the instructor Kazama shook hands with everyone and gave them parting words, as well as everyone's future talks after graduation.

Whether you like the drama version of "The Teaching Field" or not, you should understand its relationship with the original when you see it here, right? Personally, I think the drama version is good-looking and has a close relationship with the original work. As long as it is loyal to the original work, it will look good. The original plot of the screenwriter (Kimuzuka Ryoichi) is just weird. These problems began to emerge in the second part of "The Teaching Field", and became more prominent in "The Teaching Field II".
