Fun to eat! ? Eat and drink in Taipei [May Day] Taipei Far East Shangri-La. Shanghai Zuiyue Tower
By the way, C has accumulated a bunch of coupons for some reason, and occasionally gives them to us to eliminate them quickly, so we have this dinner date. It is my first time to eat at Far East Shangri-La.
Shanghai Zuiyue Tower
Legend has it that Shanghai Zuiyuelou is known as the best Shanghai restaurant in Taipei. Former US President Clinton visited this restaurant for dinner in 2005 when he visited Taiwan (according to the official website), but another feature is that the restaurant is located in the Far East Shangri-La. It's on the 39th floor, so the view is pretty good.
That day, E and I looked at the menu for a long time and struggled with the choice. We wanted to order a set meal, but later we ordered a la carte. The set meal options include 3988, 2988 and 1988 per person, all of which require an additional 10% service charge.
In the end, the two of us ordered five dishes. The portions were quite large and we were very full. I also took away two of the roasted lion heads.
Appetizer. Passion lotus root flower
This dish is quite special. It consists of lotus root slices rolled with black beans. The lotus root slices should be soaked in passion fruit juice [? The lotus root slices have been marinated in it and are quite tasty. The lotus root slices still maintain a crunchy texture, which is quite appetizing, but a little sweet.
Me: This is dual-purpose! The appetizer is OK, and the dessert is also very reasonable.
Appetizer. Crispy Rouge Duck
Originally, E asked me if I wanted to order white rice, but then I suddenly thought that in the picture I just saw, this dish seemed to have a small steamed bun wrapped around it, so... I could probably skip the white rice.
The crispy rouge duck is quite delicious in person. It’s not too salty and the outside is crispy. If you eat it alone, I think it’s okay without dipping it in sauce. According to the official website, this dish should be a Kung Fu dish. You need to fry it with pepper and salt first and then apply it. Marinate the duck, then steam it until soft and then remove the bones. Cut the meat into shreds and season with chopped green onion. Spread it in bean curd skin, fry it and cut it into small pieces.
However, if you want to wrap it in a small dumpling, you need to add more sauce, so that it will not be too dry. The sauce is a sweet noodle sauce like that used to dip roast duck.
Because there were two of us eating, each of us got two, plus one piece to eat alone (already full). The two little birds seemed to be thinking too much about not being full.
Sichuan food. Chongqing Spicy Chicken
This dish is very good for drinking. The diced chicken must have been fried very fragrant. The spiciness is quite spicy, but it can still be spicy occasionally [although we two ordered a glass of red wine later, this dish probably requires a glass of beer. 〕.

Originally we wanted to order the Tiao Tiao Pork Wotou, but then the waiter reminded us that there were already two deep-fried ones [Eh! Really professional], so we changed to the braised lion head. When it was served, we found that the lion head was really big and very tasty. The braised cabbage and mushrooms on the side were also very tasty. The lion head itself also tasted very good. E said that he rarely eats it. The lion's head has no meaty smell [should it refer to the fishy smell of meat, right? 〕.

After finishing the meal... the waiter asked if he wanted to order dessert... eh! ...100% full and can’t eat anymore!
The view from the restaurant is pretty good, but the visibility wasn't very good that day. On a gloomy night, it was nice to have the night view outside the window after lighting up the lights.
