Does Taiwan need public NFTs? Is FAB the Protector of the Country?

Back in time half a year ago, on the night when I left my job as a doctor, I accidentally drew a national meme—the national flag of the tee ball. When it spread like a virus to the streets, the ownership debate started, and some people even applied for a sneak attack on the trademark.

But the meme that loses freedom will no longer be a meme, so I reversed the process, cast the flag of the crimping ball into an NFT, then held a public auction, and finally donated more than 70,000 yuan.

This is the first NFT I have made, and it also started my journey of exploring public NFTs.

In the past six months, in addition to writing the story of the NFT creator and obtaining the title of bard (?) (the number of followers just exceeded 5K today, thank you all), I have also initiated or participated in 13 NFT projects, with one NFT project every two weeks. speed, and explore the limits of NFTs (of course, the limits are far from reach).

After pressing the national flag, I launched the "Loot Revolution", a text NFT with a group of friends to carry out the Hong Kong initiative; and my good partner Chen Derui completed the "Lock-in Vending Machine", in one hundred days, let the overseas community I fell madly in love with Taiwan's doll machine; then I cooperated with the independent bookstore "Yin Shudian" to issue the book ticket NFT "Ex-Libris "The Fool", to explore the new form of digital reading and author profit sharing.

During the Chinese New Year, I set up the "Supporter.tez" NFT Art Seed Fund in the Tezos Taiwan community to help creators enter the web3 world painlessly, and my influence is gradually expanding; at the same time, I issued Spring Festival greeting cards with Sandwich Workers and Leshan Forced Labor Camp to carry out public NFT promotion. try.

In March, I used the image of a bright lamp to exhibit the NFT work "Treasury Dao" at the Treasure Rock Light Festival. In April, we and the Beijing Normal University Art Museum launched the NFT project of "Light - Centennial of Cultural Association" - participatory co-creation of NFT <Kng>. Today, the late-night co-creation workshop officially ended; in addition, we also co-organized "Ruoshui" Award,” optimized the engagement process and facilitated discussions on cutting-edge governance, allowing more creators to adapt to these new tools.

The life of the past six months is roughly revolving around NFTs.

No matter how powerful one person is, it is impossible to hit consecutive hits in a short period of time; if there is only one person, the magnitude of the plan cannot be improved.

So I was really lucky to start a non-profit platform with a group of like-minded partners called FAB DAO , whose full name is Formosa Art Bank.

The name is mysterious.

When Shi Zhenrong heard the name, he asked, "FAB? I'm very familiar with it, isn't it a fab."

FAB, short for Semiconductor Fabrication Plant, the fab is called Taiwan's sacred mountain. In addition, FAB also means self-made, we pay tribute to the previous generation of self-made movement. Is FAB DAO the protector of the country in Taiwan? I do not think so.

web3 should be a bottom-up world, be water, goodness is like water, consensus is fluid, a group of people and some money gather here, so that the public welfare model will continue to iterate. Everything is natural, resilient, and anti-fragile. It does not require a state or special protection.

But I didn't change my mind until the Russian-Ukrainian war started. We have seen how cryptocurrencies and NFTs are involved in this war. Ukraine has its own public NFT war museum even before the war is over. Civilians have also spontaneously created various donation smart contracts to deal with this aggression.

But the back end of the contract requires trust between people, otherwise the contract is just a useless vending machine. Traditional trust comes from institutions, and new types of trust come from platforms. FAB DAO hopes to become a carrier of public welfare during peacetime and a gathering of trust during emergencies.

When can we use it? It's really hard to say. We must start now to build trust for the public good.

So we have been preparing FAB DAO for a long time.

For a topic, we conducted a several-month visiting trip, "How does NFT do public welfare?". I have met countless noble people in the middle, which makes me believe that kindness can reduce the friction cost to the greatest extent, so that luck can be buffed infinitely.

First of all, old friends Xu Haoning and Huang Wenjun , after listening to my idea last year, they chose to let the bookstore idling and join me on my unlimited visit. We developed the core model that makes the nonprofit DAO platform work.

Public welfare on the chain to help the contemporary crowd;
Art on the chain, creating future art;
Culture on the chain, inherit the beauty of the past.

Every route, we are gradually practicing, it should be obvious to all. All the know-how in the middle is open to everyone for free, and all the conversation records are saved on Discord. And our terrifying partner, Liangliang, is standardizing all links, so that old problems can be solved in textbooks, and everyone can deal with new problems together.

Next, I don't know if you still remember, I wrote a story about Wu Zheyu in early December last year, about the prince's revenge who stood on the stage by his own strength after being plagiarized between him and Artblocks.

Zheyu made a bold statement at the time, saying that some of the surplus would be donated to the establishment of FAB DAO. After months of hard work, we are ready to accept this donation. And Zheyu has also become our core partner.

We are about to launch the "Baiyue Project" (Project %), which is a 10K NFT project, which should be the largest public NFT project in Taiwan, with a total of 10,101 mountains. Wanluan Qunfeng, a block of 0.025 ETH (over NT$2,000), creates the possibility of public participation in governance; Baiyue Qunxiang, a block of 10E (about 800,000 yuan), the first block was donated by Zheyu.

The point is not to donate to NPOs, but to NPOs themselves being able to issue NFTs and gain their own digital autonomy, just like artists. Only in this way, NPO can master 100% web3 bonus.

And why DAO? Daily questioning since last year.

A DAO is nothing more than a better allocation of resources, whether human or material.

We want the ideal DAO, the smaller we are, the better. DAO is an aggregator, compatible with all parties, especially in the "commons" of the public welfare market. In the future, there will be institutions, organizations, individual workers, and actors who will explore the public welfare web3 market in a multi-party collaborative manner.

The way of governance depends on tokens and consensus.

Therefore, we will issue a DAO governance token called $FOR, which is the governance token of For Formosa, but this token will not go through a traditional ICO (initial coin offering), but an airdrop in the public NFT market, which I call it It is INO (Initial NFT Offering).

If you buy non-profit NFTs to help non-profit organizations, you will receive airdrops equivalent to $FOR donations, which is a reward for good people and good deeds; and non-profit organizations will also receive the same amount of airdrops because of you, after all, they are more good people; come again, participate Promoted executors also get tokens because they are work 2 earn.

Therefore, $FOR is equal to the market value of donations created by the NFT public welfare market, and it also immediately becomes a governance token that balances donations, recipients, and workers. This is not a web3 ESG token, what is?

Let's talk about the artistic side of the "Hundred Mountains Project".

After all, NFTs can be a work of art.

I wrote a co-creation article on generative art a few days ago, and I think the interaction of code will bring the future art to the contemporary. The Baiyue Project is jointly created by six of Taiwan's top generative artists.

Including Aluan Wang , Wu Zheyu, Lin Yiwen, Lin Jingyao Jinyao Lin , Wang Liansheng Lien-cheng Wang , Huang Xin .

Aran, Lin Yiwen, and Lin Jingyao successfully sold out their co-created work "Collage" last Saturday at the highest price. One piece was nearly 10,000 Taiwan dollars (96 XTZ). They also donated 25% of the proceeds to FAB DAO. grateful.

The above six artists, I dare say, are really a temporary choice. However, thanks to our thousands of requests, the unit price of Baiyue is very low this time. An NFT only needs to be in the early 2000s of Taiwan dollars (0.025 E). We hope that everyone can participate in FAB DAO in the spirit of profit.
