After a person is arrested, should he speak up?

(edited)
After chatting with a few friends who were arrested to protest youths with white papers in Liangmaqiao, Beijing, I found that a topic that has been discussed for more than ten years is still not outdated, so I combined the chat content and sorted it out for everyone to discuss and think about. We also welcome comments

It is said that some family members of Beijing Liangmaqiao protest youths were brainwashed by the police and believed that some people were released by the Beijing News, and some people were released because their parents had found a relationship. good. In fact, after a certain girl had an accident, the Beijing News cut her off immediately, and threatened the employees everywhere not to disclose the information that an employee had been arrested. After another girl’s parents heard about their daughter’s accident, they rushed to Beijing to find her. Daughter, after arriving in Beijing, she didn't even know which police station she was in. After being reminded by enthusiastic people, the parents who wandered around for two days didn't know where to find someone. But the officials insisted on describing the results of the protest as collusion, or gifts or exceptions, so that people completely deny the role of protest or solidarity.

Of course, since there are no official rules for arresting and releasing people, it cannot be said that some people were released because of social concern and support, but these released people and their families did receive the attention, support, or private assistance of many enthusiastic people.

There are many real-name or anonymous people who keep writing and disseminating their lives and experiences, making the image of white paper protesting against the youth society to the public, from vague to real, triggering public discussion and attention, and their personal popularity and reputation have increased significantly , This is obviously an official taboo, because it exposes the legitimacy of the official arrest and increases the official retaliation cost. The information about the detention of a certain girl was publicly released by a newspaper leader on WeChat, and Wang Qingpeng's related posts were reposted on the wall to support them. In contrast, there are two parents who protested against the youth with blank papers. They followed the advice of the police and gave up rescue. One of the parents fired the lawyer. It is said that the other parent believed that the country can educate their daughters well. Youths were not only authorized to be arrested, but also designated as principal offenders.

In fact, the government often maintains stability by suppressing and instilling wrong ideas or writing lies and stories, so that family members look down on themselves, give up their rights, and accept their fate. That is a kind of Pua. Many people will become very obedient after being Puaed. , and then become powerless, family members may become indifferent to the arrested relatives and do nothing, and the relatives and friends of the arrested may become exquisite egoists, looking for reasons for not supporting and not watching. Just imagine, after one's own children or lovers are arrested, one does not dare to speak out, how many outsiders dare to speak out, who has no relatives, and who is not afraid of being implicated? The voices of relatives have largely encouraged relatives and friends to voice their voices, which in turn led to the voices of people who have nothing to do with society. If they are all silent for various reasons, it just achieves the official purpose. The official is to let everyone not speak out or fight, because speaking out and protesting are useful. In fact, only when the family members have the courage to speak out for their relatives, the attorney intervenes in a timely manner, and the two sides cooperate to continuously disclose information, can the situation of the arrested be improved, and even if they cannot be released, the treatment in the detention center will be improved. A friend who was released recently said that if you hadn’t supported and paid attention outside, the prison guards wouldn’t have cared if I died inside. With your attention, when I went on a hunger strike, the prison guards worried that something would happen to me, and another The unattended prison inmate who was tortured to extract a confession was about to commit suicide, and the prison guards scolded him to let him die, die early and live early, this is the difference between being noticed and not being noticed.

According to statistics, there are about 10 or 20 Beijing Liangmaqiao protest youths who have not been released. Many of them disappeared silently because their families, lawyers, and work units hid them, and the outside world didn’t even know their names. They were imprisoned without interest. I hope they can get some attention and solidarity in the future.
