Community Call for Papers: Contact Oneself, Dialogue with Emotions | Preview of the Second Online "Freedom Class": An Introductory Course for Transforming Trauma

(edited)

What are we talking about when we talk about "trauma"? What is trauma? Or, what is trauma not?

"Trauma" is not an unfamiliar term that is far from us and has nothing to do with it. It's not just the damage that can only be caused by the collapse of the earth. In daily life, the slightest bit of disobedience or avoidance of our own will, over time, will swallow us at an unexpected moment. Trauma is an overwhelming experience.

More often, trauma is not a single individual event, it often involves a specific group or even the entire society, and is often supported by specific cultural, historical and social systems, so we will collectively refer to trauma as "social trauma" or "collective trauma". ".

In the face of the constantly collapsing world and beliefs, we are forced to watch the news that we don't want to watch anymore, and we have to watch it again and again, and repeat those arguments that we have to say again and again but have to say. Politicians lie, the epidemic is urgent, the cold war is looming... but you wake up from a bizarre dream, you repeatedly ask yourself, and finally you are uneasy and sure that you have not stopped healing, you do not want to give up hope, and you have not sentenced the world to death .

Facing the wound, by being aware of and even facing up to its existence, may be able to gradually get out of the cage of the heart and regain the power that belongs to us to respond to things.

This summer, Matty has launched a community call for essays and wants to invite you: Put aside the work at hand and ask yourself, your loss. We would like to invite you to: (The following two points are from the experience transfer of the trauma student association )

  • Reach out to yourself, talk to your emotions, understand the needs behind your emotions, mourn your loss, and regain your transformative power.
  • After connecting with yourself, use the extra space in your mind to carry other people's emotions and achieve we-connect.

In addition to reading your own emotions, listening to your own needs and values, and connecting yourself with yourself, you can also seek to practice the ability to perceive and take care of your own needs in a group. If you have the strength and the willingness, you might as well record how you feel, what you need at this moment, the support you are most looking forward to, or teach people how to take care of their needs and become a bridge between different individuals. Let's put aside questions, paths, and strategies for a moment, go back to our little world, and ask the wounded soul in the corner, "Are you okay?"

We want to tell you that we see your need, we want to take good care of it with you, and self-connection is the priority and the beginning of everything.

I am honored and happy to heal with you.
