The epidemic is coming! How to strengthen the body's immunity?

At this time when the epidemic is raging, the best way to protect yourself is not only to pay attention to disinfection, but also to your usual living habits. Maintaining healthy and good living habits can strengthen the body's immunity and resist the invasion of viruses.

1. Stay hydrated

Remember to drink 8 glasses of water a day. Our bodies are made up of 80% water, and water is essential for a variety of bodily functions such as proper gut function, optimal muscle performance, and immune system functioning and skin health. Insufficient hydration can lead to dehydration, fatigue, headaches, dry skin and weakened immunity, so it needs a lot of attention.

2. Exercise regularly

Try to exercise at least 150 minutes a week or 30 minutes at least 5 days a week. Whether it's walking, jogging, swimming, or doing a Pilates workout at home, the goal is to stay physically active. Not only can exercise help maintain a healthy weight, but it can also reduce your risk of disease from a sedentary lifestyle.

3. Get enough good sleep

There is a strong link between sleep and the immune system. Seven to nine hours of sleep can heal and strengthen your body while you're asleep. A good night's sleep is essential for physical and mental health.

4. Stay away from unhealthy foods and get important nutrients

Don't forget to eat breakfast, get plenty of vitamins, protein, and fiber, and avoid foods that are high in salt, sugar, or calories.

5. Cut down on sitting and playing with your phone

Exercise doesn't make you less sedentary. Even people who exercise regularly can increase their risk of diabetes, heart disease or stroke by spending a lot of time sitting in front of a computer. You can move around your office or room after a long period of sitting to get your body moving.

People with severe chronic diseases, including extreme obesity, diabetes and heart disease, are at higher risk for complications and serious illness after contracting COVID-19. If you maintain good habits in your daily life, the risk of developing these chronic diseases will be greatly reduced. Even if you accidentally contract new coronary pneumonia, you can also reduce the probability of complications.
