Where do you want to graduate from high school? Strategies for Diversified Admissions for Four Technical Secondary Schools - Schools You Don't Know (11)

With the arrival of the graduation season, this article will introduce the complex multiple admission channels for four technical secondary schools, hoping to help all graduates and parents of higher vocational colleges to understand, what options are there to choose from? Which option is best for you?

Where do you want to graduate from high school?

First of all, after graduation, vocational students are mainly divided into two paths: “employment” and “advance to higher education”. According to the data released by the Ministry of Education for the 106 academic year, nearly 80% (79.42%) of higher vocational graduates choose to continue their studies, and the largest of them is, of course, entering four technical secondary schools. ! Thanks to the restructuring of the previous wide-ranging universities and technical colleges, basically, as long as graduates want to study, there are probably schools that will accept them. Therefore, such distribution results have long been the norm in Taiwan. As for the proportion of graduates from higher vocational colleges entering the workplace , it is only less than 15% (14.47%). It is no wonder that the Ministry of Education has tried every means to increase the employment rate of vocational graduates through various programs, special classes, etc., in order to achieve the original goal of higher vocational education!

Next, let's get into the key points. In order to reduce the pressure of students' examinations and give students more choices, the Ministry of Education has continued to improve and revise the methods and details of the implementation of multiple admissions. However, because of these changes, many students, parents, Even the teachers and the school's registration team can't figure out which channels lead to the fourth and second colleges, and what are the differences between the channels?

Which pipeline is the best fit?

The above picture lists the main admission channels of the four technical secondary schools in chronological order. The following is a brief description of each channel:

1. Skilled-excellent recommendation: This is the earliest way to start homework. It is not necessary to participate in the unified test (the unified entrance test for four technical secondary schools). It is mainly aimed at students who have won international competitions. , Voluntary distribution in sequence.

Advantages: The schedule is the earliest, and the admitted students can fully enjoy the remaining school time, and can also plan the next schedule in advance.

Disadvantages:
The threshold is the highest, and of course the difficulty is the highest.

2. Fanxing Project: Sign up around the middle of March every year. You don’t need to take the statistical test, but you must rank in the top 20% of the vocational or academic program in the first five semesters to participate. The items in the ranking include:

(1) The ranking percentage of the grades in the first five semesters of the school.

(2) The ranking percentage of the average grades of majors and practical subjects in the first five semesters of the school.

(3) The ranking items from the third to the fifth are determined by each school, and the range is mostly the ranking percentage of the average scores of subjects such as Chinese, English and mathematics.

(4) Comprehensive results of skills and other competitions, language ability tests, and obtaining certificates.

(5) Comprehensive scores of volunteers, school officials, social services and community participation.

The technical colleges participating in the Fanxing Project are limited to one graduate from a single school. Unless there are remaining places, the number of students admitted to a single school will be increased to two.

Advantages: It is beneficial to those with stable performance in school, and because the graduates of each school are based on the principle of admitting one person, it increases the possibility of graduates from later schools to enter the former technical colleges.

Disadvantages: It is necessary to compare the vocational subjects and academic programs in the school first, and the competition in the school is relatively fierce.

3. Technical Excellence Screening: It is held in about May every year. It is not necessary to participate in the unified test. It is mainly aimed at graduates who participate in competitions such as skills and skills, or who have passed the Grade B test. The screening content is customized by each technical college. Such as interviews, portfolio review, implementation, etc.

Advantages: Those who pass various competitions and B-level examinations have a large percentage of extra points , and this channel is relatively beneficial for those who have unstable or even poor performance in school.

Disadvantages: The implementation part is heavy, and students who don't like hands-on are at a disadvantage.

4. Admission selection: From mid-May to June every year, students must start to submit relevant materials (administrators of each school pre-register for students in April), and they need to participate in a unified test. In terms of ranking, they are usually divided into two. stage:

(1) Screening of statistical test scores.

(2) Various technical colleges have customized project screening tests, such as interviews, written data review, etc.

Advantages: It is fair to go through the statistical test results screening first, and the second stage screening usually takes place in June, which is a little later than the technical merit screening and has a longer time to prepare the review materials.

Disadvantages: The number of volunteers that can be filled is less than that of registration and distribution, so you must be more careful in the choice of volunteers.

5. Registration and distribution: To register and pay for homework at the beginning of July every year, it is necessary to participate in the statistical test, and the only basis for the ranking is based on the results of the statistical test; since the time for each homework is scheduled after the student leaves the school, it is not easy for the school and teachers to remind parents. And students should pay special attention to the homework schedule announced by the Admissions Committee.

Advantages: The screening method is the simplest and fairest, which is especially beneficial to students who are good at exams.

Disadvantages: It is the last admission channel other than independent admissions, and it is relatively risky. If you cannot be admitted to the ideal school, you may have to consider other than further studies.

6. Independent enrollment of each school: mostly for special departments, such as the Department of Fine Arts, the Department of Music, etc., including the processing time and the sequence of items are all set by each school. Interested participants should pay close attention to the information released by various technical colleges .

It should be added that the test date of the annual statistical test is usually the first Saturday and Sunday in May. The transcript will be sent about two to three weeks after the test is over. Measurement!

I hope that the above arrangement can make everyone more clear about the multiple admissions of the four technical secondary schools, and can also use this to find a suitable channel for further education.

Finally, I would like to remind you that further education is really not the only option! Just imagine, if the family has financial needs and there are job vacancies, and the starting salaries for vocational graduates and college graduates are almost the same, is it necessary to spend four more years before entering the workplace? Due to problems such as enrollment and funding, some technical colleges have increasingly deteriorated the quality of running schools. What they can teach children may be far less than what they can get directly into the workplace. It is definitely not a wise move to waste four years of life's essence!

Taiwanese society has yet to completely get rid of the traditional concept of "only reading is high" . Vocational graduates with skills may only have an advantage over high school students at this stage. If they can enter the ideal workplace first, in the long run It's not a bad thing!

Get a good understanding of what your child wants, try to guide him to plan a blueprint for the future, and give him the best advice, but don't help him make the final decision, his life should be his own pressing the choice button!
