Trivia of Three Women Unit 2: Follow-up

Ah Ching suffers from high blood pressure and has to go to the hospital for a long-term follow-up. Today is her follow-up day. She sat for over half an hour and couldn't concentrate too much.

"Number 6614, please go to room 7, number 6211, please go to room 44, number 6212, please wait outside the door of room 4" and so on.

She couldn't remember her follow-up number, and whenever the radio rang and formulately read out a bunch of numbers, she nervously flipped through the receipt, looking for her own, unfamiliar four-digit number. At the moment, she felt like she was just a four-digit number. In the cold air, she was just a number waiting to be called by the announcer.

She was used to living under pressure and was in a hurry every second. At home, she was rarely able to sit down, for the most simple reason, but one that no one else could understand: she always had a lot of work in every corner of the house, making her pass her chair or sofa all the time.

From follow-up consultation to daily life at home, it seems to be a bit far off. She kept listening to the radio, as if paying attention, but as if she didn't hear it. Last night, her son often woke up and cried because of his illness. She often took him into her arms to comfort her, and she hardly fell asleep. He went out to the hospital for follow-up.

Unexpectedly, I couldn't sit comfortably at home, but I sat on the orange plastic chair in the hospital for three hours: waiting to see the doctor, waiting for the appointment paper, and waiting for the medicine to be dispensed. She felt that time was a bit of a waste, and she would rather take care of her son at home. Waiting and waiting, the more I remembered my son who was still having a fever this morning, so I picked up the phone and dialed, thinking: ask my mother.

After finally getting the medicine, I could leave the hospital and hurried to the subway station. She would rather go home and look at the chair than stay in the hospital for one more second.
