【How to systematically write down the ideas you think about every day?】

When you want to organize them, you should ask yourself "Where can these random notes be contributed in the future?"

Last night, I participated in the sharing session of the authors of the card box notes. The author, Dr. Schenk, personally introduced to us the mentality and advantages of card notes.

Dr. Schenk himself

And after the meeting, I asked Dr. Schenk about my recent problems:

I myself often come up with new ideas anytime and anywhere, and most of the time I just use the line on my phone to jot them down.

After memorizing it, I may forget to organize it, or the idea is too complicated to classify and organize, so I often think of a good idea but it is a pity that it is not used in the end.

I would like to ask if Dr. Schenk has encountered such a problem? How did you solve it?

[Dr. Schenk's answer]

Most of the things you jot down on your phone should be flashing notes.

When you want to organize them, you should ask yourself "Where can these random notes be contributed in the future?" Is it a reminder to myself? Or can it be used elsewhere?

Examine your various ideas from the end of the purpose:

1. If it can become a new idea for an article, you can try to organize this idea into the article idea category for future thoughts.

2. If it is an unsolved problem, it can be sorted into the brainstorming area for future review and reflection.

The point is to think about where these notes can be used in the future, and then use this to categorize and even connect with past notes.

I think Dr. Schenk's wise answer is: "There are many ideas, but not every idea has to be useful or become an output in the future".

Of course it's good to have, but you don't have to think about building a perfect note-taking system that can record everything. The point is to be able to continuously generate new materials, and then try to use the concept of purpose to think about how these materials can be used, and you can play a lot. Great function!

After the meeting, some friends recommended several note-taking software with the concept of card notes, including calabash note, obsidian, heptabase, etc. By the way, I recommend it to everyone to try it out. I am also planning to use a new way to do my own knowledge management recently!
