[Community Activities|Matt City & Characters] Anne Boleyn, the most famous and powerful victim of the British witch hunt period.

Facing Annie's life, is it sad, self-inflicted, or helpless? She is a smart woman. If it wasn't in the era of patriarchy or witch hunting, she should not have been charged with adultery. In fact, in the environment at that time, Henry VIII's affair was more serious than anyone else, but no one blamed him. Relatively female infidelity can be sentenced to death, which is the best example of the inequality between men and women at that time. .
Yugil turned right before the man's gaze left the crowd, and went straight to the end. There is a historic bust painting on the wall there, of a brown-haired woman in a black square-neck, with a black pearl-encrusted French hood and a pearl choker, with a slender face. With a mysterious smile, it is a very traditional portrait.
"Anne Boleyn. Second wife of Henry VIII."
Red Harmony spoke about the life of the person in the painting, while Yugil continued to remain silent, not telling the woman's tragic experience and response.
"Witches always like Anne Boleyn [1] ?" Red Harmony asked again, and Yugier knew right away that her problem was a path problem: for those who cast magic or sorcery, the left hand was generally used for curses, And the right hand is used for blessing, so when she saw him counting the pearls on the exercise with his right hand, she naturally thought of this.
"She is indeed hated by a lot of people, but to the Witch Federation she was just a victim of a witch hunt. Based on this fact, there is no reason to like or dislike it," Yugier said afterward. He looked back and tapped on the stone wall, and there was a faint vibration immediately from the painting and the wall, and then they slowly turned like a revolving door, revealing the dark passage behind.

The above article is from Ben Xiong's special work "Red Harmony" serialized in Penana.

The cover of the novel "Red Harmony" is now drawn by Bird Ye.

In fact, as a set of fantasy works about British history, Ben Xiong not only described many famous British history and legendary characters in "Red Harmony", but also used elements such as witches, magic, and vampires to run through the entire "Searching for the Vampire Professor". s story. And this time, what Ben Xiong wants to introduce is the soul blessed by the witch in the story:

Queen Anne Boleyn (1501 – 19 May 1536).

Anne Boleyn was actually the second queen of King Henry VIII, the biological mother of Elizabeth I, and the stepmother of Mary I.

In fact, Anne Boleyn was originally the waitress of Catherine, the first queen of Henry VIII. In 1525, with her beauty and mind, she first had an affair with Henry VIII, and then in January 1533. Henry VIII married in secret. During this period, she continued to incite Henry VIII to divorce Catherine and replace her as the queen, and at the same time she was pregnant with Henry VIII's child.

However, her intellect did not bring good luck to the end. Henry VIII originally hoped that Anne would give him a son to inherit the throne, but Anne gave birth to a daughter, the future Elizabeth I, and Henry quickly lost interest in her, so Anne's status rose very quickly from high to high. sinking down. At the same time, Anne's arrogant personality and ruthless means of defending her rights quickly made her unpopular in the court. Coupled with the subsequent miscarriages, Henry VIII despaired of her, and soon began to overthrow her with his then lover. She slandered her.

Finally, in May 1536, the court sentenced Anne Boleyn and her brothers to death, either by burning or beheading at the king's discretion. The two were quickly beheaded. Anne Boleyn knew she was going to die, but instead of crying and panicking, she dressed up, graced the execution ground, and still insisted on her innocence to the priest and other witnesses during her final Mass. Five adulterous men were sentenced to car splits, which were later commuted to beheading.

Portrait of Anne Boleyn, probably based on a contemporary portrait which no longer survives.

Relatively female infidelity can be sentenced to death, which is the best example of the inequality between men and women at that time. .

On the other hand, the so-called witch hunt period is actually just a tool for people to fear the unknown and pursue rights. At that time, the Holy See in Europe needed to stabilize its power and funds, so they chose to point the natural sins of the time at women, alleging that they were witches, the incarnation of demons, and thus used various charges to cover up their incompetence. Among them, adultery, burning at the stake, etc. are the by-products commonly used in the witch hunt period. And when Anne was the queen, many people who were dissatisfied with her called her a witch—this was very common in the witch hunt period. If Anne had no status, maybe she would even use evidence at the moment when she was pointed out. If you don't, you will already be dragged to the stake...

Although in the end, she could not avoid it and became the most famous and powerful victim of the British witch hunt period.

Looking back at history, did Anne Boleyn really deserve to die? Do not.
At least I think it's prejudice and inequality, desire and unscrupulousness that are worthy of death.

As I pointed out in "Red Harmony": "She is indeed hated by many people, but to the Witch Association she is just a victim of a witch hunt. Based on this fact, there is no like or a reason to dislike it.”

Postscript: In fact, Ben Xiong already wanted to write about Anne Boleyn when he found out that the No. 1 character was Henry VIII. It is worth mentioning that although there is no clear record in history that Anne's death is directly related to her identity as a witch, in the movie "Harry Potter - The Mysterious Philosopher's Stone", the portrait of Anne Boleyn was hung at Hogwarts. The grand staircase of the castle.
