1989:Jiang Zemin becomes Chinese Chairman of the Central Military Commission.

1995:Chinese authorities arrange a seven-day qigong seminar at the cultural center of the Chinese Embassy in Paris, France. The main speaker is specially invited from China, the founder of Falun Gong, Li Hongzhi.
