Introduction to immigration strategy after studying abroad in Australia
Australian immigration policy for Hong Kong people
Last year, the Australian government launched a "safe haven Hong Kong Stream" policy for Hong Kong people to make it easier for Hong Kong people to immigrate to Australia.
According to this policy, holders of BNO or HKSAR passports can apply for the "Independent Skilled Immigrant Visa (189)" as long as they have held a specific work visa (457 or 482) or graduate visa (485) for 4 years. Or if you have lived, worked and studied in designated remote areas for 3 years, you can apply for the "Remote Area Skilled Immigrant Visa (191)".
Both 189 and 191 are permanent resident visas (PR), but neither of these two visas requires state nomination, applicants can live and work anywhere, and Hong Kong Stream does not need to comply with the original immigration scoring method.

By studying in Australia to stay in low immigration after graduation
To put it simply, the easiest way to immigrate to Australia is to study a degree in Australia, apply for a graduate visa (485, five years) to stay in a low-level job after completion, and apply for a 189 visa to permanently reside in Australia after 4 years.
The 485 visa is also divided into two categories, the main ones are as follows:

After completing 4 or 3 years of study or work, you can enter the stage of applying for PR. The application requirements are as follows:
1. Under the age of 45
2. IELTS up to 6 points in each sub-item
3. The work major needs to be in the technical occupation list and pass the occupational assessment
Advantages of a "safe haven" policy
Obviously, the biggest advantage of Hong Kong Stream is that its application threshold is very low. For young people who do not have much work experience and funds, it is a very attractive offer, especially Australia itself is a country that handles immigration applications very rigorously.
In addition, there are no geographical restrictions on visas 189 and 191 under the Hong Kong Stream, and applicants can live and work in any state with high flexibility.
From studying in Australia to studying in Australia
After successfully applying for visa 189, it only takes one year to apply for an Australian passport and become a citizen. In other words, if the process goes smoothly, it will only take about 7 years to officially naturalize in Australia.
