Silver is also translated as "silver" in Taiwanese Cantonese and Mandarin. In ancient China, "silver" was also used directly to represent money. The author has also heard people say "Do you have silver?" in Hong Kong before, which means do you have money/coins, and it will probably be less used now.

According to the Japanese dictionary, in Japan, "silver" also directly refers to metal (silver), and there is also a term for silver coins (written in Japanese:銀行ぎんか).

In terms of pronunciation, in addition to Cantonese, Taiwanese and Japanese Mandarin all end in in, with different tones. Only Cantonese involves nasal sounds.

In fact, there is also this word in the Chinese-speaking area, but the meaning is actually completely different from that in Japan. Originally, the Chinese meaning originally meant "people's breath, new machine", and later the Japanese term was introduced to represent "popular, well-known phenomenon".
There are also different ways of writing kanji "人気" (にんき), but it can still be recognized as "qi".

This is a very simple primitive hieroglyph, like the sun. Basically, it means the same in Taiwanese, Cantonese, Japanese, and Mandarin, meaning the sun, day, date, etc.
