Garbage sorting may be good, but I'm annoyed

Garbage sorting in Shanghai has been going on for a long time, and I pay more attention to this topic because it is closely related to my daily life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a volunteer or community cleaner involved in sorting, I'm just an ordinary office worker. From Monday to Friday, the housing company is two o'clock and one line. During this period of time, I went home late, and I often missed the deadline for garbage disposal. According to the regulations of the community, this garbage can only stay at home or in front of the house for one night until the next day. In fact, if it's just "dry garbage", it doesn't matter even if it is placed at home. But kitchen waste is too troublesome, and as the temperature rises, it is more prone to spoilage and odor. So, I just like those neighbors who also missed putting out the garbage at the specified time, I sneakily put the garbage in the corner where the public trash can stood in the dark, thinking that the staff will be able to see it as soon as possible the next day. Garbage and take it away.

The community property quickly discovered the existence of the garbage, but they just put out a notice.

property notice

The sign was posted on the door, and I saw it at a glance. In the elevator room, there are the same notices in front of every door of every house. For their well-intentioned sake, I had to stop and read. Sure enough, the notice only mentions that it is forbidden to throw garbage at non-specified times, but it does not mention how to help us residents who have to secretly throw garbage to solve the problem.

I asked the owners of other communities, and also checked the comments of other netizens on similar incidents. The conclusion is that the properties of each community have the same attitude: please place them on a regular basis.

This is a simple rule, cold and inhuman. I expect everyone, including me, to go their own way until the property and even the local government use tougher weapons.

Sure enough, a week later, uniformed "inspectors" began to be stationed in the community. I don't know their official title, just give them a "inspector", because they do exercise similar responsibilities: outside the non-specified garbage disposal time, supervise people passing by the garbage disposal point, whether they have the intention of throwing garbage illegally . Passing by one morning, I saw an uncle with his grandson preparing to put the diapers he just changed in the garbage point, and the inspector immediately came to stop him. Watching the uncle reluctantly stuff the used diaper into his trouser pocket, I wanted to laugh a little, but I soon realized that I was actually a character like the uncle. I can't stop laughing right now.

Those inspectors only stood guard at certain times of the day, and only wandered around the garbage point. Many people who had garbage that could not be thrown away began to hide from the inspectors and still throw away the garbage in their hands. Garbage is found in underground garages, grass, and even under cars.

This is a battle without gunpowder smoke. One is the property that regards garbage sorting as a top priority and the government behind it, and the other is the community owner who has to take the risk and wantonly throw garbage. In the short term, the property side will continue to be strong, they will hire more inspectors, or extend the working hours and scope of the inspectors. In contrast, some owners will have no choice but to accept the reality and put stinky garbage at home. Some will still persist.

This is what I can see, what is happening and will continue to happen in an ordinary community in Shanghai. A strong manager wants complete control, and a weak managed side wants basic respect and freedom.

I have heard thousands of compliments on waste sorting in the so-called state media. But only those who are in it can know what it means behind it. Because of this policy, countless families are forced to learn tedious sorting knowledge, prepare more garbage bags and trash cans, and abide by the rigid timing and fixed-point distribution of garbage. And even if you have natural difficulties and can't bring garbage to the garbage point regularly, you must keep the smelly garbage in your small home.

Of course, it is not the community property that issued the regulations, they are just poor people who are forced to implement them. Those who write the articles high may live in luxurious villas, or at least a yard or other corner where they can put their clutter. They don't think it's a big deal to keep trash at home.

There are thousands of words in official articles about the benefits of garbage sorting. Many comments say that we should support the government and support garbage sorting. I think most of these people never do housework. If I never had to take out the rubbish, or see the uncle who could only stuff used diapers into his trouser pockets because of the inspector's obstruction, I could confidently say that I support this policy. After all, speaking is effortless.
