Reading Bigeng|Remote meetings (9)・Two or three things about travel comprehensive insurance
Yesterday was the October session of the online oral expression reading club (held on the third Sunday of every month). The “rules of the game” this time are that the sharer chooses a field he is familiar with (maybe from hobbies, occupations...) Practical topics that everyone may be interested in , the more relevant to daily life, the better.
Two or three things about travel insurance
With the return to normal life and the gradual lifting of border controls, many people should be eager to travel abroad! Therefore, the speaker took this opportunity to compile "Two or Three Travel Insurance Things" essential for overseas travel ("I" in the following text refers to the speaker's first-person perspective).
≣ Name correction
The full name of "travel insurance" that everyone usually hears is travel safety insurance , which can be understood as protection related to "body", such as death, disability, medical expenses... etc.; another one that is often heard is travel inconvenience insurance. , as the name suggests, is compensation for the "inconvenience".
The two items are priced independently. If you want to buy them together, please change the name to travel comprehensive insurance (referred to as travel comprehensive insurance) . But most people can’t care about so much, and most of them will yell: “Help me buy a travel insurance policy!” At this time, I will confirm with the customer his true intention, because your travel insurance (referring to travel comprehensive insurance) is different from My travel insurance may not mean the same thing.
≣Three aspects
Although a comprehensive travel insurance policy may have many details, its backbone—death, injury, illness, and inconvenience—is simple. No matter which company you insure with, just master three aspects.
1・Death (How much money will be left when you die?)
The first aspect (field) of travel comprehensive insurance is the items that are "mandatory" to be insured, such as the main meal in a fast food restaurant (you must order the main meal first, and then you can choose the side dishes). The range of insurance coverage has upper and lower limits. The floor may fall between RMB 600,000 and RMB 1,000,000 (depending on different company regulations), and the ceiling may fall at RMB 10,000,000.
So what if someone feels that they are worth a lot and feel that 10 million is not enough? It is possible to purchase comprehensive travel insurance from "more than one" insurance company, no problem.
In addition, there is an optional (non-mandatory) item called the doubling of death protection for "water, land and air public transportation accidents". Note that I use the word "public transportation". This is clearly defined . To put it simply There are fixed routes, frequency, stops and rates...so buses are public transportation, but taxis are not.
2・Injury and illness (How to write off the medical expenses for injury and illness?)
Let me digress here. The purpose is to clarify the name again. I avoid using the popular term "accident insurance" - instead, I use the strict term "injury insurance" - because I have encountered clients who understand "accident" as English. Shocked, he roared: "I have cancer, it's so surprising! Why doesn't the accident insurance cover it?"
⚠️ Tips:
What is "injury" → external, sudden, non-disease.
Back to the topic, the second aspect of travel comprehensive insurance is the medical expense protection for " injury and overseas sudden illness". This is an optional item, and customers can set write-off limits for them respectively (Editor's note: Currently, overseas emergencies Disease items are closed due to COVID-19 and are slowly being re-listed ).
We should pay attention to a few words here (not written randomly). The first is "injury", which we have just discussed; the second is the word "emergency", which means that not all medical treatment counts ( for details , see Clauses ), for example, for example, regular treatment of chronic diseases is naturally excluded, but if it is gastroenteritis, it is OK; finally there is the word "write-off", which may be familiar to friends who serve in public agencies, also known as actual reimbursement, or in Within a certain amount (limit, limited amount), "you can use as much as you want". You must attach medical receipts to ask for money (write off the account), instead of directly distributing a sum of money.
In other words, write-offs don’t give people the feeling of “making extra money.”
3. Inconvenience (How can I compensate for the inconvenience during the trip?)
The third aspect of travel comprehensive insurance is "inconvenience insurance", which is also an optional option. Due to COVID-19, major insurance companies have closed (streamlined) the details of inconvenience insurance, and it is expected to return to normal in the future .
We are not yet looking forward to the return of the new version of inconvenience insurance, but one thing is certain, the "game play" of inconvenience insurance will be the most diverse among the three aspects. When you have the opportunity to plan in the future, you might as well shop around to avoid losing money. If you are too lazy to do research, I recommend feeding keywords to Google. There should be bloggers on the Internet called "CP Value Actuarial Demon" who will analyze it for you. You can just focus on the conclusion!
