Iron Stomach Diary - China
I've been sorting through my old photo albums and found a food list I made when I was wandering around China ten years ago.
When I looked at the photos again, I couldn't believe that ten years had passed so quickly.
Looking back on those tastes now, what I miss most is the bowl of Guilin rice noodles; however, when I visited the Fuyu duck porridge in Xiamen last year, I actually found it unpalatable.
Those who like to eat should look at it, and don't fight the region; this list is purely from one family, reflecting the taste of the islanders of the mustard, and the text was written by me, who was very middle-aged back then. Besides, after ten years, these stalls and restaurants may have disappeared and lost their taste with the times. It's good to grasp every emotion that you eat into your stomach.
#1 Shiji Rice Noodles, Guilin, Guangxi
The trip that won the first place for the best food in China is Shiji Rice Noodles, Guilin City, Guangxi Province. The taste is strong, and the layers presented on the taste buds are like layers of mountains and rivers in Guilin, with peaks connected to the horizon! This is the gourmet food that the crooked hits got: when I arrived in Guilin, I was so hungry that I walked into a small shop casually; later I learned from the local population that it was the favorite noodle shop of the local people in Guilin.
#2 Dexiao Kang Pork, Xining City, Qinghai Province.
Second place in China, Dexiao Kang Rou, Xining City, Qinghai Province. There are sheep intestines filled with blood, lamb chops, beef brisket, tripe, lamb tendons, and potatoes. It's full of flavors, full of ingredients and delicious, and it combines the heroic and Hui flavors outside the customs.
#3 Sister Store Fried Ice, Sanya City, Hainan Province.
We have tried five fried ice stalls in the first market, and this one has the highest score; we have set a record of eight visits here in three days, recommending the flavor of prickly pear and dragon fruit, and double the condensed milk!
#4 Yongji Tangyuan, Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
There are five glutinous rice balls in a small bowl, each with different flavors, seemingly simple and ordinary things, but very different. Absolutely stunned after eating. Their dandan noodles and fried hand dumplings are also delicious, about 3,784 levels higher than the well-known Long Chaoshou.
#5 Raw beef sauce with tsampa at Tibetan Steakhouse, Lhasa, Tibet.
The taste is like rotten sashimi, but the Tibetan seasoning is excellent. Tsampa was told by the lovely waiter that it was the most famous store on the street in front of the Ramoche Temple. Every time we passed by, we saw a long queue. When guests go home, they have to add ghee by themselves.
#6 Yongfengqiao Beef Noodles, Phoenix, Hunan.
Because of this bowl of noodles, the trip to Phoenix didn't end bad. If you want to eat early, it is often sold out after noon; if you go in the afternoon, you will only see the proprietress stewing the beef for tomorrow morning and telling you to come early tomorrow!
#7 Nanmen Chicken Restaurant, Haikou, Hainan.
The legendary Hainanese four famous dishes, Wenchang chicken; overseas Chinese are often called Hainanese chicken. We first tried the Longzai Chicken Restaurant recommended by the locals in Haikou, then went to the Haijiang Chicken Restaurant, and finally found this Nanmen Chicken Rice which was the most appetizing. Fresh and tender boiled chicken, dipped in sweet and sour orange sauce, and a piece of coconut water, heaven on earth is in Hainan tonight!
#8 Lunch set at Le Pré Lenôtre, Chaoyang District, Beijing.
Special price 199 RMB, three courses. The French waiters are skilled and professional, and the decoration is rich and elegant. It is worthy of being the Beijing branch of the Michelin three-star French restaurant. Unfortunately, the materials for the lunch set menu are not satisfactory. Those with plenty of money may wish to try à la carte in the evening!
#9 Lao San Yang Soup, Chengde City, Hebei.
When asking for directions, a snack bar that even children know about; remember to add a little black vinegar and ask for a big biscuits. Come here in winter, he will block the cold wind outside the customs for you!
#10 Seafood noodles at Xingdou Restaurant, Yanji, Jilin.
Eating Korean food in Yanbian, where you can only hear Korean, is just as logical as eating raw fried chicken chops at Shilin Night Market in Taipei. Passing by this store, just looking at it with my eyes, I feel that the whole store is full of Korean flavors inside and out; when I walked in, I found that whether the waiters or customers were all Koreans.
The following are other dishes on the list, in no particular order
Coconut juice is refreshing and refreshing, Xinhua South Road, Haikou, Hainan. Every time I ask passers-by about this store, the answer I get is always that you are going to that store! ? That one is delicious! It only opens in the evening~ We have visited twice, and the square like a food stall is full of people every time.
Dongjiang Mutton Restaurant, Chongming Island. Although it is not as well-known as Hainan Dongyang Goat, after comparison, I personally think that Chongming Dongjiang Goat is better. The victory lies in the victory, Dongjiang Yang Q is stronger, and there is no need to eat hot pot shirtless in the hot weather like the people in Sanya!
Pichaiyuan Tofu Brain, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. The road led by students studying at university in Qingdao. A group of Taiwanese and Hong Kongers who are not used to eating salty and spicy beancurd has been completely transformed here.
Wupai Camellia oleifera, Guangxi resources. Like rice crackers and popcorn tea. This thing is not on the list because it is delicious, but because he let me know that the Chinese also eat Cereal. It is said that it is a green food promulgated by the state or an intangible cultural heritage.
Hao Zhaoyuan Tea Shop, Haikou, Hainan. Learning from the locals, you can buy two cups of condensed milk milk tea for eight yuan (plus a pot of black tea, so that you can finish the condensed milk at the bottom of the cup), two refreshments, shelter from the scorching sun or afternoon thunderstorms, and a leisurely afternoon.
The legendary eastern goat meat, Sanya, Hainan. The meat is fresh and tender, but the taste is slightly inferior to Chongming's Dongjiang mutton. The disadvantage is that the price is high and the temperature is high. The dip is the highlight.
Qingdao, Shandong. Originally thought it was an oyster, but the locals said it was a sea oyster. It's a pity it's not eaten raw, and no one has the guts to eat it raw. However, thinking that one only sold for fifty cents, I still swallowed twenty of them. Fortunately, there is no heavy metal poisoning in the body. Cheap seafood is the highlight of Qingdao. Even an abalone costs only five yuan. I really want to ship imported from Qingdao to Taiwan by air.
Our favorite sweet tea house in Canggu Temple is located in the nun temple. Their sweet tea is more to our liking.
Chen Mapo tofu and couple's lung slices, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It's delicious, but it's so spicy that we sweat. It seems that in order to expand the business, it has just been renovated. I don't know if the taste is out of shape. It seems that as long as China's well-known time-honored brands expand their operations, they will begin to decline. There are many appalling examples.
Small noodles and tofu flower, Xiahongxue Lane, Chongqing. The bean curd flower is bought with the hawker who sells it along the street. The enthusiastic proprietress taught us "buy two tickets" in Chongqing dialect, so that when we cross the river ropeway, we can buy tickets with local fare!
The country's delicious pot-wrapped meat, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. The fried inner muscles are coated with sugar, crispy and delicious, and the sweet taste is very suitable for Taiwanese. Too bad you get tired of eating too much. !
Niu Samsung, Guangzhou City. It is said that the food is in Guangzhou, but Guangzhou is quite disappointing this time. Only the afternoon tea at Lucky House and this Niu Samsung barely made the list.
The blood duck in the Ambassador Restaurant, Phoenix, Hunan. Blood cake is duck blood cake. This dish is sold in every restaurant on the small street where tourists gather in Phoenix. I heard that this one tastes the best. Not bad, but not particularly good either.
In a cafeteria of Peking University, my favorite combination costs about six yuan: half a portion of spicy chicken, half portion of beef with tomatoes, three taels of rice, and one or two dumplings. For the first time, I saw that eating dumplings for a meal is considered a pound, and I was dumbfounded. The cafeteria is the only place in Peking University that people like. It's a pity that there are even advertisements on the tables where students eat, which is a terrible sight.
Its beautiful Chaozhou fish ball powder, Chaozhou fish ball Q is the most basic requirement, and the highlight is that the fish is crispy and delicious!
Dayang Original Stewed Beef Brain Soup, Guangzhou. I don't even know why I love brains so much, but I gave up chicken stewed coconut when I saw this.
Zhangzhou brother-in-law love meat dumplings, Taiwanese who have eaten all kinds of meat dumplings will praise it! Taiwanese rice dumplings are divided into northern rice dumplings and southern rice dumplings. Zhangzhou zongzi is like the northern zongzi, which is fried first and then cooked; a friend of the family who has lived in Taipei for generations said that it tastes like the taste of her grandmother.
A Fen Lu noodles, Zhangzhou. I asked my grandma about the delicious food in Zhangzhou, and my grandma said, "You haven't been to Zhangzhou if you haven't tasted braised noodles!"
The first place in Zhangzhou, the nameless snack bar, is the second one on the left outside the west gate of Zhongshan Park. When I first arrived in Zhangzhou, I was looking for food; as soon as I left Zhongshan Park, I was attracted by this humble shop. A small storefront, crowded with Aunt Abel. Order a piece of pig's trotters, a bowl of rice, and a soup with pig offal; the shallots in the soup make our homesickness disappear.
Bacon and sticky rice, a stall in the alley of Guangwei Road, Guangzhou. People who are addicted to glutinous rice will definitely love it. I heard that it is a local snack that is becoming more and more difficult to eat in Guangzhou.
Milk Siguo Ice, Zhangzhou. That day we climbed over the concrete wall and jumped onto the closed Zhongshan Old Bridge to watch the sunset; we strolled to the opposite bank and found this small shop on the left hand side specializing in Siguo ice, which was booming. Their four-fruit ice is flavored with milk and pineapple juice, which is delicious. Sure enough, popularity is a delicious indicator, all over the world.
Fried Siguobing, Nanjing County, Fujian. The ingredients of Siguo are the same, but the fried ice machine in Hainan is used to make a fluffy sugar water smoothie, which is spread on the lotus seeds, mung beans, barley and red beans to cool off the heat and satisfy the stomach. We visited it twice.
The first place in Xiamen, Fuyu duck porridge on Xiahe Road; I fell in love with this flavor when I went to Xiamen in 2008. After thinking about it for two years across the strait, I finally revisited Ludao and fulfilled my long-cherished wish! After taking this photo, I couldn't help but eat to the bottom and forgot to take a picture of the real face under the fritters; please use your imagination, or buy a plane ticket to Xiamen and try it yourself!
