Life Farmer | What you need is not to know more

Therefore, cast off all filth and excess of evil, and receive with meekness the implanted word, the word that will save your souls. It's just that you have to do the Dao, don't just listen to the Dao and deceive yourself. He who listens to the Dao and does not practice the Dao is like a person looking in a mirror to see his true face, seeing it, and then forgetting what he looks like after he leaves. ( James 1:21-24 )

Many Christians who have a certain number of church years should have heard a lot of the above passages, especially " you are to do the word, not just listen to the word ". The meaning of the scriptures is very clear. You should be able to understand the meaning without special interpretation. Even if you are not a Christian, you can understand it.

So the problem is not that people don't understand it, but that as the scriptures say, many people love to "just listen to the word" and not do it.

Listening to reason is an easy thing to do. After listening to the truth, many people feel that they have gained it. In fact, this is deceiving yourself, making yourself feel good, and it is not conducive to growth and progress.

I started working at Life Coach two years ago, especially helping brothers and sisters who are self-sufficient and entrepreneurial. I found that many brothers and sisters are not ignorant of the theories and methods for success in business. Many people attend lectures, sign up for courses, participate in workshops, read, and learn a lot of things. It's just that most people only study, but do not study, that is, do not practice. I believe this is a common phenomenon.

Learning, if you only learn without learning, you will never be able to get what you really want to learn, there will be no progress, and there will be no growth.

The same is true on a spiritual level. But the difference is that in the growth of spiritual life, people do not rely on their own efforts, but must rely on the Holy Spirit of truth, and keep the word of the Lord in their hearts with humility. The psalmist said, " I have sought you with all my heart; do not lead me to deviate from your commandments. I have hidden your words in my heart, that I might not sin against you. " ( Psalm 119:10-11 )

The Bible is the mirror of man's life, which can reflect man's "original face". The purpose is to make people see themselves as sinners. "For by the law is the knowledge of sin" ( cf. Romans 3:20 ). God's word can bring sinners into the need of salvation, and make people realize that they need salvation.

When the Holy Spirit of truth illuminates our lives with the words of the Lord, it may be difficult to accept, but we must be thankful. Because this is the opportunity the Lord has given us to confess our sins and repent, and have the opportunity to experience the grace of forgiveness of our sins. We must face up to the filth and evil in our lives that have been illuminated by the way of the Lord, and ask the Lord to cleanse us and give us the strength to follow the way of the Lord.

So don’t read the Bible just for the sake of reading it; listen to the sermon just to hear the sermon, rely on the Lord and follow the Lord’s teaching.

All scriptures are given by inspiration of God, and are profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 )
