"No determination, but a kind of fulfillment"

There are many stories of power struggles in the workplace. How to make yourself climb up and become a powerful person is often considered to be a talent with ambitions for a career. But recently I have suddenly discovered that those who are active and determined tend to be less flexible and limit their own development.

I was born with a scientific research background and originally wanted to pursue academic research, so I chose to work as a postdoctoral researcher in a top foreign research institution.

I've always known that I'm good at integrating, communicating and organizing expression! But within the academic research unit, I have always felt that there is no room for me to play well. Probably because it is too long to wait until there is a good research result and then share it with everyone.

Later, I decided to leave the experimental environment. At the time, I was labelled "not determined enough". It's also natural! Because people always put the adjectives "not ambitious enough" and "not strong fighting spirit" for those who have the ability and work hard, but get off the bus halfway.

Although I said it freely and easily, in the past I always thought it was humiliating to be labeled like this. It seems that after being described in this way, I really don't have enough ambition, I don't have enough persistence in doing things, or I don't have the determination to study the road. What's more, some people told me afterwards that the choice of "getting off" in my whole life means that my mind is not clear...

At that time, I was really sad, and there was a period of serious self-doubt. But after thinking about it, life is your own, and only you know what you are thinking about going on such a road in front of you! Where does anyone else's criticism matter?

Now, I am grateful for my lack of determination back then! If it weren't for this, I might still be in a non-id-themed work environment, living a melancholy life.

In the successful ideology that advocates that everything must have a clear goal and strive to move towards the goal, the mentality and attitude of requiring oneself to "must have it" really overwhelms many people!

But I want to make a special statement. When I say that I have no determination, it does not mean that I can not work hard, but that everyone will always have new ideas at different stages. When thoughts change, so what if the intensity of the will to do something changes?

According to my experience of self-introspection and awareness, I found that when I gave up the worldly concept of "determination", or gave up the behavior of showing "I have to", all the things around me turned around perfectly. Get up!
