Chihuahua | Evil validators manipulate events? Chihuahua about to cry?
Human beings, eating peanuts is the most active, and some people don't even think about whether they agree with the nature of the incident or not, they just pat it with 5 palms or even Super Like it. Since everyone likes eating melons and frying peanuts so much, I certainly will not disappoint everyone and bring hot Chihuahua peanuts.

It's about the shady incident of the chihuahua's validator, the shady person, who is not honest or serious. I saw this incident from the comment of@FarmerL, and then I saw the article on Reddit from the twitter of@chickencakeGCAKE, a user named ValidateUranus at 05:48 Hong Kong time on January 27th: 03AM's post, he is a Chihuahua validator, the following is a paraphrase of the content of the article:
Hello everyone, I've been running a node in Chihuahua for the past 3 weeks or so, and last night what I think the community should know happened: Late last night (US time), multiple nodes bounced to Active Set active validators within minutes , each node delegated just over ~2 million $HUAHUA, or just kept them alive in the active set, just above a handful of nodes with 95-100 validator positions. The validators involved are as follows: -Stakethat - shishaonthespot - Constantinos - Plusx -TheCrazyStaker - stakearmy I was very curious, so I went to Mintscan to see how many wallets I had. Plusx and shishaonthespot only have one commission from the same wallet. I found it odd that a wallet had delegated millions of $HUAHUA to two different inactive validators in a matter of minutes, and one of the nodes had only been up an hour ago, so I did some more investigation. It turns out that the $HUAHUA delegated to both nodes came from the same wallet, which had just delegated millions of dollars out.
After that, ValidateUranus continued to research and found that the wallet entrusted Constantinos and stakethat, and the commission of stakethat was sent directly to that wallet. As for TheCrazyStaker, Plusx and shishaonthespot were launched two minutes earlier, but the commission also came from that main wallet. Although Constantinos is no longer active, it is still relevant.
ValidateUranus isn't quite sure what's going on, but it appears that the same person is manipulating many of the Chihuahua's 100 nodes.
community response
Kleimanb81 (Admin) : I understand the concerns of validators, although I have doubts, the original PO is not the first to doubt. If there is abusive or manipulative behavior, the necessary action will be taken.
BitcoinPizzeria : Besides they are not decentralized, what are the benefits of doing this?
ValidateUranus (formerly PO) : It's all for money, I guess they have already calculated it. If there is already a node that has been operating for a long time, and other nodes can flexibly handle the commission return, push the node up a line, and make the whole Things are more profitable. Therefore, to become an active node at the bottom requires more than 100,000 US dollars to be delegated. Although I am just guessing, but if this is the case, the principal must know that this behavior is happening.
The principle is that as long as there are more nodes, it will be profitable for this group of people to be able to get a seat. Although the minimum commission is 5%, it will be more beneficial to operate multiple nodes and balance the income than to operate only one node with outstanding performance. Because some people don't care about performance, they will only randomly select some validators to delegate.
Im_A_Model : The validator is either stealing or robbing the transaction. What's the problem?
vickangaroo: Delegators are rewarded because validators validate transactions and mint tokens.
It appears that a group is trying to establish multiple validator nodes without disclosing their connection. Occupying the validator position has a negative impact on decentralization and also prevents others from establishing their own nodes.
Although it is not expressly stated that this cannot be done, it is hypocritical and misleading to the principal.
Nitego29 : Exactly, unfortunately this also happens with Akash (another Cosmos-based cryptocurrency), unless the validator flagrantly marks his other nodes with the same name plus a "2"! It's really annoying because they're going to have someone else kicked out of the Active Set. In particular, the community claimed to be decentralized and then voted to add more nodes to Akash, but the 25 new nodes seem to be in the same hands!
I think there has to be some program-based solution, or the validator needs to do KYC or DID.
MasterChihuahua : If you do this, this validator is really disrespectful to the entire network.
There seems to be some discussion that exploded on Chihuahua's Discord, because the content is only on private channels that can only be viewed by verifiers, so I don't know how the battle is going. But in another post on Reddit, it seems that stakethat in Discord does not admit that he has done such behavior. Then he said that he just put out the funds to help his "novice friends" get nodes like that.
What do we learn from it?
- Reactions to unfair things are common to both Chinese and foreign countries (nonsense).
- One person controls multi-person nodes, does not seek to be the strongest, as long as the performance is average and then gets commissioned by some random people, even if there is only a 5% commission, you can fat fat.
- Doing bad things should also be conspicuous, and don’t let people find out. This practice of entrusting when you go online is too stupid. You can see a lot of things in the public records of the blockchain. Of course, stakethat may really be to help people, but it's not good for people to misunderstand.
- Someone replied that it is better to be a validator to require KYC, but if you really want to do it, why is it difficult to find a head account?
- Turns out Akash had already learned the hard way. I don't know what their commission or system is like. But I saw that their validator can set 0% commission. Suppose there is really a person who controls 25 nodes, uses a few 0% commission nodes to attract a large number of commissions, and then uses it to vote for some proposals that are all about getting his nodes a decent return. Since many people delegate only for return, they don't care whether they can bypass the validator to vote. Therefore, the 0% commission validator controls a large number of ticket sources and can control the overall situation .
It is true that a validator itself requires time and money to rent a server to run a node, and it should be rewarded to obtain delegation and verification transaction returns, but dark manipulation is everywhere. To be honest, it’s really no wonder that being cut into leeks is just because of his own direct investment failure or greed, but it is the saddest thing to be seen as a fool who clearly trusts a validator to entrust him to empower him . So in any case, it is really important to know people with your eyes and increase your knowledge. Don't be regarded as a fool and help people with money.
At present, the chihuahua validator I am familiar with @ Lao Mao has decided to shut down, I hope @Code farmer's daily Maggie can stand up and fight against the possible unfair hegemony. I also look forward to more Chihuahua validator shady events to follow.
