The virus variants, Fei ν (Nu) and ξ (Xi), jumped directly to ο (Omicron)... However, I was frightened, and it seemed that I was slowly getting used to it. I got used to it. As the days passed, life seemed to go back to normal.

As usual, I'm cooking in the kitchen and listening to Youtube. Today, I heard Xiao Haozi talk about his thoughts after watching "The Revolution of the Times" and "Youth" in Taiwan.

Like many Hong Kong people, although I have heard about these two dramas for a long time, I wish I could watch it again and again, but I can only hate it. Although I haven't watched it yet and I will definitely watch it if I have the chance, I am not afraid of spoilers now, and I eagerly listen to him explain the plot. He doesn't have exaggerated expressions and movements, he doesn't have many descriptions. It's just a simple retelling of the plot, but I can't hold back the tears. There are no pictures or videos when he talks, but I know all the scenes he talks about. Scene by scene, every weekend two years ago, I also watched live broadcasts on Apple News, Stand, Cable, and Watch China, and watched every episode of Hong Kong and Taiwan's "Clang Episodes" and "Headlines."

Many of these images no longer exist. Apple News, along with the entire Apple Daily, disappeared directly from Hong Kong. So 2019 is already two years ago? Zhou Guanwei mentioned in an interview that he once met a sibling on the street, and he was very grateful to the documentary "The Revolution of the Times" for letting him know that what he had experienced before was not just a dream. It sounds exaggerated, but I feel it now. What happened in the past, no matter how dramatic, is lost in the environment in which we are now, and memory is unreliable. Our feelings need material things to fix them.

However, what has happened has happened. 2019 has changed Hong Kong, changed the relationship between China and the world, and changed us who have been silently observing all this. I didn't know it at that time, but today I heard Xiao Haozi mention those episodes and I couldn't help but burst into tears. So I just confirmed that I had changed too. In the past, there have been feelings, many things that cannot be overturned, and some reactions that cannot be faked. Is the heartbeat still fake?

Zhou Guanwei has actively accepted many interviews since the premiere of "The Revolution of the Times" in Cannes, revealing his thoughts and sharing his mental journey. He said that during the filming process, he was very touched by a sibling's words, which he also wrote on the movie poster: "It is not the times that chose us, it is we who choose to change the times." Like Chairman Zou Xingtong, Zhou Guanwei does not conduct self-censorship or chilling. They all expressed their attitude to the regime: "You can't use me to convey fear, you can only use me to emphasize how courageous the people of Hong Kong are."

They don't come out with courage, they have courage when they come out. And this courage, I feel. I believe that there must be thousands of faceless anonymous people like me who felt it, and then gave birth to more new courage. These courages, big and small, are the forces that influence the trajectory of the times.

Following its Cannes Film Festival premiere , Revolution of the Times was also shown in Tokyo , Amsterdam and Taipei . News reports said there were times when the audience was full, shouting loudly. Taiwan's 58th Golden Horse Awards ceremony was held on November 27, and the Best Documentary Award was awarded to this documentary on anti-extradition, which was not released in Hong Kong. Zhou Guanwei did not go to Taiwan to attend the awards ceremony, but delivered his acceptance speech through video, dedicating the honor of the film to "every Hong Konger who has a conscience, justice, and tears for Hong Kong ."

In my opinion, the award for this film is not because the Golden Horse Award has added honor to Zhou Guanwei, but because of the award for this film, the Golden Horse Award has won the honor. The Hong Kong Film Awards was originally my favorite film awards ceremony, but "Revolution of the Times" could not be screened in Hong Kong, so the Hong Kong Film Awards lost the opportunity to receive this honor.

I used to feel very sad, I didn't understand why this happened, and I was shocked to realize that the happy little life I lived and worked in peace before was just a mirage, and everything could disappear like a dream bubble. Looking back at the history of Nazi Germany in World War II, it feels incredible. Why is there such a dark existence? In the blink of an eye, I realized that I was living in a very similar era at all. There is no need to pretend to be a dog and pretend to be loyal, because after all, people are all things, and at best, all we can have in this life is time. As your days are, so shall your strength be. You should be upright like Zhou Guanwei and Lin Xi, insist on doing what you think is right, and live in reality. Today is yesterday of tomorrow, and grasping today is the best explanation for tomorrow.

History tells us that time will be on our side in the end, and we must believe in the value of truth, goodness and beauty. There are countless dark ages in history. Even in the darkest times, there will always be someone willing to be a star in the night sky: Havel, Kafka, George Orwell, Zweig... There is no fear in love .
