Experience the emotions and self-questions of sitting in a troubled city from a group of photos from an old exhibition at Berlinische Galerie in Berlin. An unfinished story about an ex-Berliner who wants to leave.

Lately I feel like I'm sitting in a sleepy city, and I don't know why this mood reminds me of this group of photos from a group of East German art photography exhibitions. Maybe it was because I had been in Berlin for 3 or 4 years at the time, still sitting in the city of grief, or because the way the exhibition was set up was a set of labyrinths with no turning back.

Remember when you were a kid reading Homer's epics and being fascinated by the monsters in the labyrinth of Crete. Minotaur is a bull-headed beast in Greek mythology, the son of the king of Crete who was trapped in a labyrinth built for him and devoured sacrificed Athenian virgins until the hero Theseus killed him.

It is said that there is only one road in the real maze, and only one road leads to the only center.

As you approached this iron box, you were thinking about this story in your mind. Later, you learned a lot of metaphors about the maze in life, and you all sneered, because you know that there is only one way, it is impossible to go through it and then go backwards and say to start over, there is no other possibility.

But at first, you can pretend not to know,

simple and naive.

Until you gradually see that there is really only one way, and you seem to be free to move forward -- dragging a chain,

Occasionally people tell you to take up arms and resist. "Hey! Welcome to the world of cannibals."

"Hey, even if you think of yourself as a pig, you'll be eaten!" So don't hide.

You have no way back (and there is no difference between the way ahead and the way you came).

Just pretend to be calm,

suspect? Do you remember the ship Theseus escaped from the labyrinth? The paradox of philosophy, the paradox of life. After many years on this road, one day you will think that you will change your face and even die, but are you still you?

The labyrinth is over, and you cry out in your heart that in the end you are still the sacrifice of Minotaur, and the hero Theseus has never appeared.

I forgot the year of the exhibition. There are too many photos of such museums and galleries in my mobile phone, but they have never been sorted out.

In fact, this article is just to remind that the award-winning essay contest I still remember a city corner will end on the evening of April 22nd.
