I just watched Huang Zihua's short film "Whirlwind Legs" a few years ago. The dialogue from Liu Qingyun in it, "Being a person without public relations, you will eat shit" is not only a hot topic, but it is likely to be passed down through the ages. Unfortunately, it is probably Not many people know that this sentence is from this short film. And many people may have overlooked that the short film may be Zihua's best film so far, whether it is in the arrangement of the plot, the deep meaning of the theme, or the expression of the image.

"Whirlwind Legs"

People's ignorance of "Whirlwind Legs" also led to the ignorance of Zihua's ability to express his images. He made a good laugh by talking about Dong Du, and he often made bad movies, but the short film showed that he actually knew how to construct a sense of comedy through pictures. He continued this kind of comedy expression in his new work "The Grandmaster of the Next Generation". Many of the jokes in the film are built through the pictures, which is better than many Hong Kong-made slapstick comedies-some Hong Kong-made films even only need to explode. It's thick enough to make the audience roll back and forth with laughter. There are also some places in "Neidai" that can be regarded as a self-homage to "Whirlwind Legs". For example, at the beginning, Zihua was photographed and posted on the Internet because he competed with an old man for a taxi. For example, Zihua always gets wet all the time.

Huang Zihua's role in "The Grand Master" this time still has no public relations, but the knife

It's a decent comedy that lacks surprises -- if you just want a laugh and don't ask for more from Zihua, the rating could go a little higher. If you compare Huang Baiming's "Happy Family 2020", which is also a new year's file, it should be the difference between four points and one point.

Zihua said before that in order to make a real Hong Kong film that does not need to deal with censorship, he can only sell the property and invest himself. I do not doubt his sincerity. This film is indeed very Hong Kong, but the whole film is actually nothing. Especially sensitive places, even the sex scenes are expressed through comedy, as clean as Disney animation, unless... even the borrowing of Bruce Lee's Be Water has become sensitive - of course, the mainland film censorship is not even mainland filmmakers understand. . The idea that the whole film wants to convey to Hong Kong people the most must be the sentence Be Water, the protagonist Ma Feilong (played by Huang Zihua) realizes the truth of being wet all the time, that is, being a human being can stretch and shrink, "Water goes low. It doesn't matter if you win or lose - this is tantamount to saying "come on, Hong Kong", isn't it sensitive enough for the moment? The posters and slogans of "The Great Master" (both true and false) obviously did not make any special emphasis on this aspect.

There is nothing special to say about Huang Zihua's acting skills, it's just his usual level. As for Liu Xinyou, because she is a little fatter and darker, it reduces the vase feeling, but she is more pleasing than before.

The poster of "The Grandmaster" is actually a bit confusing. Even if it wants to express the online public trial, it is not the theme of the movie.

Before the movie was released, many people said to stop watching it because Zihua had not expressed any opinion on what happened in society in the past six months. In order to buffer the trend of watching the movie, he made a rare response (but only responded to the part of watching the movie). My opinion is that he has always been an artist (or creator), and I value what he expresses through his works, and he has expressed many things that Hong Kong people care about in his works in the past (Du Dongxiao is also his works, not a platform for expressing opinions). What he has expressed in the past, and the influence he has brought, may be more than what those people in the entertainment industry who are still silent have expressed in their entire lives. I feel that I really have no right to ask him to do more. So when dealing with "The Grandmaster of the Generation", you should go back to the movie. If you regard him as a creator, not an opinion leader, then consider whether the work is worth watching or not, and whether to buy a ticket to support it.
