The themes of the movie include family affection, love, adventure, fear, and growth. The story is simple but very connotative. When I see my father finally let go of his old ideas, I know that my father has finally grown up and has taken a very difficult step for him. A child who has grown can be called an adult, and an adult who has grown can be called a more mature person.

Most cartoon movies feature children as the protagonists, and Hayao Miyazaki and Pixar can often see children as the protagonists. Unexpectedly, the protagonist of "Guru Family" is not a child, but a father. With a child as the protagonist, there is a lot of room for growth and orientation. Adults are relatively stereotyped and have less room to play. Less does not mean no. The father in the film has grown from stubborn and conservative to a flexible person.

"Guru Family" is about a family in ancient times, living in a cave. The head of the family, father Grug, believes in "survival in safety". The safest place is a cave, which is isolated from all dangers. He loves his family very much and wants them to be safe, so he keeps them in the cave. But her daughter, Eep, doesn't want to stay in the cave. She longs for light and wants to go to the outside world. Of course Dad didn't allow it, and said "curiosity is harmful".

One day, a younger sister walked out of the cave without her father's consent, and met an outsider, Guy, who didn't live in the cave and was rolling outside for many years. He had a lot of ideas in his mind. The first sister, who is eager for the outside world, gets along very well with Agai. Dad, Gulu, is very unhappy about this. He wants to go back to the cave with the whole family. Unfortunately, the cave collapses. Dad's old means of survival are gone. Find a cave and go in with your family.

The reality is that Dad couldn't find the cave for a while, so he could only follow Agai outside. The outside world is not as simple as a cave, and there are many problems. Agai has a lot of ideas and solved a lot of problems. Dad Gulu relied only on brute force. As his daughter and Agai became closer and closer, and his family leader status was taken away by Agai (it was Gulu who failed to solve the problem himself, the family followed Agai), and he became more and more towards Agai. more dissatisfied. Later, the family would rather go with Agai than go back to the cave. Dad was full of anger and wanted to vent on him. After a chase, the two were trapped in a quagmire, and Dad was still unable to escape by brute force. The two started a conversation in the quagmire. Dad learned about Agai's life experience and understood that it was also important to use his brains, so he invited his brains to get out of trouble. The stubborn and conservative father was finally willing to be flexible and no longer stubborn and conservative.

The stubborn and conservative image of Dad Gollum can be found a lot in the real world. The mentality of being afraid of her daughter being "snatched" by others is also very realistic. If a daughter wants to get rid of her father's shackles, it can touch the hearts of teenagers and parents, and she really has to I admire the skill of the screenwriter.

The lesson of the story is simple and straightforward: when the old principles of survival do not apply to the ever-changing world, be brave to change, use your brains, and don’t be obsessed with old times that you can’t go back to. As long as there is room for growth, the protagonist is the protagonist, so everyone is the protagonist of their own life, it only depends on the willingness of the parties involved to step out of the cave and go to the new world to have a look.
