Picking a subject is as personal as picking a lover. What drives the decision (the moment of saying "yes") is something deeper: recognition.

Heptabase is done across devices

I was lucky enough to use Heptabase (then called Project Meta) a long time ago. The reason why I wanted to try it is that I have been using Notion as my main note-taking software for more than two years, but it has not been able to allow me to "note" on it. Desire - more is to record, organize, project management. The transferred articles are basically thrown into the sea, and then "written" is completely incomparable to the touch of Bear or Ulysses. As soon as I saw the introduction, I had already applied for a trial. Later, I actively arranged the time for onboard . I didn't expect it to be a wise move. Now it has been arranged until July...

Heptabase is probably the only reason I used Discord before, watching their development progress and having the patience to talk to everyone who has used or wanted to use it gives a sense of companionship. The computer I used before was not my main laptop. Today, their cross-device payment function is finally completed, and I immediately swiped to synchronize. I really hope they can succeed. The team in Taiwan is very attentive to the product details. For me, this is not a problem. For a product that replaces Notion, more needs are to absorb or think out ideas, sort them out in a visual way, and put together a logic of their own.

The picture is quoted from the introduction of the official use case

Very powerful use cases can be seen here , their Discord can go here, I hope more and more people know about them, and if I have any experience, I will share it with you.

"Science Lover" by Jane Winterson

I've always liked Jane Winterson's work, and I prefer rewritten work to her autobiographical or novel form. "The Burden" is about the myth of Atlas and Hercules, "The Gap in Time" is a rewrite of Shakespeare's "Winter's Tale", this time " Science Lover " originates from "Frankenstein". To quote a preface to "The Heavy Burden" that I like very much:

Picking a subject is as personal as picking a lover. What drives the decision (the moment of saying "yes") is something deeper: recognition. I recognize you, and then I recognize you again in a dream or in the afterlife, or even in a glimpse of a coffee shop. A glimpse, a sign, a symptom, or a memory, connects us unconsciously with the subject until a lesson in everyday life uncovers the subject.

Sometimes when a writer writes a novel you think he's just rewriting his autobiography, but Jane Winterson can always use a new angle to talk about feelings, or responsibility, or soul . I like that there are always clever and clever fragments in her writing. This "Science Lover" is carried out in two lines. The first line describes the story of Mary Shelley at that time, and the first line uses the characters of this time to correspond to the five characters of that year. For me, this one was not as easy to read as the previous two, it was a bit difficult to get into at first, but then the same, I started to cut and paste some words:

Life is strange, it unfolds our everyday reality, but the stories we tell are enough to shatter it overnight. The stories I've written have no fixed order of chapters. All are just my fragmentary impressions. It may be chaotic, but it couldn't be more true for the tragedies uncovered in the stories -- because in tragedies we always learn too late.

But if you want to start, let's start with "The Gap in Time". This time I don't know if I'm more tired or what. It took many days to read it.

Try the starting point of the output

I wanted to try it and start sorting out the things I only wrote for myself. In the past two years, I realized that the whole person seems to be stuck without output. It is a small exercise. Because I really won't be harsh on myself, so let's go down and take a look.
