20200328.00 (possibly overly broad) political decision
In a fully rational ideal environment, before making a decision, various factors can be clearly discussed. But even then, there are still trade-offs in the final political decision. The progress of human civilization, to a certain extent, can be understood as accumulating experience and theories, allowing more affairs to have technical conclusions and reducing the need for political decision-making. However, as human society continues to complicate and more political issues emerge, in a certain historical period, the progress of science and technology may not keep pace with the complication of social conditions. Science and technology itself often accelerates societal complexity. In short, science and technology cannot keep up with the needs of social decision-making. No matter how down-to-earth one pursues, political decision-making still has the element of "betting" and the element of leap of faith.
Political decisions also need to be made at the individual level. Matters that cannot be conclusively concluded through rational analysis due to incomplete information or limited intelligence and theoretical level require (in a broad sense) political decision-making.
Having children or not is a personal political decision. There are many factors to consider when giving birth to a child, whether personal financial strength allows it, whether the child can receive ideal nutrition, health and educational care after birth, the impact on the individual, family, career, whether you are optimistic about the world or society, family/family The demands of tradition, the desire to nurture the next generation, etc. There are too many factors that cannot be rationalized and quantified. Every warrior who chooses to have a child can be said to be taking a leap of faith.
Whether or not to support CCP rule is also a political decision at the individual level. Will the development of the country benefit me as an individual? Will the CCP’s established line effectively reform and improve the country’s governance system? Will Xinjiang fully respect (as defined by the West) human rights and not engage in re-education camps to make society flourish? Whether the turmoil, 198964 and other historical events mean that overthrowing the current CCP system is a better choice for the whole country, and whether different levels of speech control can be tolerated, etc., are all issues worthy of discussion, and it is difficult to have scientific and technological guidance. It is a leap of faith to choose the (American style) dogmatism that puts democracy and freedom above all else, to think that the CCP is inherently evil, and to follow the old ideological and dogmatic path of the Cultural Revolution. Whether to follow it or not is a political decision.
Political decision-making is a general direction. People who choose a similar general direction may have different ideas and differ greatly in details. This is true of those who choose to have children, and the same is true of those who choose to be anti-communist. Even their thoughts still contain a lot of content that is contrary to the general direction of their choice. Political decisions are made, and in the process of implementation, it is destined to be all mud and sand, and many situations that do not meet expectations will occur. As individuals, so does society.
