[Matters Golden Sentence Post] Many things are not persisted until one sees hope, but one sees hope only after persisting.
Jinjutie refers to words, sentences, or a paragraph similar to quotations.
I have a line group myself, and I am the only one in it (laughs), in which I posted long and short, various quotes, or a paragraph, or even an article, the group name is "Quotations", 2015 Years of creating a group so far. Occasionally, in the dead of night, when the mood is a little low, or when you need warmth, encouragement, or inspiration, you will occasionally look through it.
There are various types of quotations recorded in it, reflecting my annoyance or confusion at different stages. For a while, it was almost about friendship, and then it was about life, self-development and so on. Later, when I had no strange troubles or confusion, I would occasionally record the words or dialogues I saw in articles, movies, American dramas, lyrics, etc., those words that inspired or moved me, and resonated with me.
If there is an opportunity in the future, I will slowly share what I have saved in each stage, and I will notice that there will be resonant characteristics of the quotations.
What I want to share today is this sentence:
In many things, you don't persevere when you see hope, but you see hope only after you persevere.
A lot of times you don't choose to hold on because there is hope, you held on, and so there is hope.

I believe that some people see this source, or even just read this sentence, and know that it comes from a movie adapted from a real person, and the name of the movie is the source.
Actually, I haven’t seen this movie. I saw someone share this sentence on facebook during the 2018 Malaysian general election. I didn't know its source at that time, but I just felt that this sentence hit my swinging heart.
Before the 2018 election, the Malaysian government did not change political parties, and most people also felt that "change the government? Impossible".
I don’t remember, and I haven’t checked how many years the Barisan Nasional has been in power. If you are interested, you can google it yourself. I remember that by 2018, there have been at least 5 prime ministers. The general election that was closest to changing the government was actually the previous one in 2018. However, due to the black box operation of the ruling party and other means, the Barisan Nasional was re-elected in the end.
In fact, many people should have been disappointed at that time, including me and my friends.
But during the 2018 general election, although we didn’t have much hope, we tried our best to do what we had to do. I flew back to Malaysia from Taiwan to vote, and I kept urging everyone to go out and vote, to educate the elders about how to vote, the things to pay attention to in the general election, etc. Basically, it is the same atmosphere as Taiwan's presidential election this year.
But after doing it, I don't feel at ease in my heart, and I don't think there will be a chance to change the government. I feel that the government will definitely use small tricks, tricks, and black-box operations to repeat the scene of 2013.
But in 2018, Malaysia ushered in a different ending. The Barisan Nasional stepped down and the Pakatan Harapan was in power. The moment the news was announced, I was really in a state of indescribable emotion~
Although there has been a "back door" government this year, that's another story.
After the election, I wrote a paragraph on my facebook:
The results of Malaysia's 14th general election were finalized yesterday, and the new government has entered Putrajaya. My heart is at ease, and I also want to record this mood, so that when fb memory pops up in the future, I will remind myself that this change of weather is not easy to come by.
This time Malaysia's successful political party change is behind the efforts of many, many people. What is particularly touching this time is the unity of the people.
From the spontaneous appeal of the people themselves, who are willing to hitchhike home to vote for those who are working outside, to overseas wanderers who are sure that the ballots cannot be sent back on the day of the general election due to the imperfect planning of the election committee, and actively plan to send them back to their hometowns. When the runner helps to collect overseas ballots and carry them back to Malaysia, then other local people will take over and bring them back to all parts of Malaysia (this is a huge and complicated procedure, flying back from Europe, America, and all over Asia, including transfers in the middle, and even arriving at the Malaysian airport. It is necessary to connect with the local runners who happen to go to vote in the district, and assign them to take them back to the destination, and these must be processed within 1 to 5 days or even within a dozen hours). Some of these people just bought air tickets to come back, some raised money to buy air tickets for them to come back, and some didn’t plan to come back but paid for the air tickets out of their own pockets because they had to carry the tickets back.
And on the day of voting, after the votes were over, many people voluntarily stayed at the scene to help guard them so as not to be tampered with by the old government. They met with the police and the Election Commission, and even when the Election Commission delivered the votes to the ticket inspection center, the people drove or rode motorcycles back and forth to escort the ballots several times, just because they were afraid of accidents in the middle, and so on.
This time Malaysia has successfully changed the world. In fact, everyone has worked hard for a long time. It has experienced the 12th and 13th general elections, and several bersih parades. There are many little people behind it who have contributed a lot, and every effort is interlocking. Especially this time, the Malaysian people are really united. We have worked hard to achieve this success. I really want to be proud of myself, pat myself on the shoulder, and say "good job" to myself.
In fact, after the last 13th general election, I am not optimistic or confident this time around, and I am not as enthusiastic as the last one. And there are friends around me who have similar feelings, but they are very grateful and fortunate that everyone has not given up, and they are still fighting with all their strength.
It is not because you see hope that you persist, but because you persist that you see hope. Hope Malaysia will get better and better in the future!
Thank you for sponsoring me to go home and vote and be Michong's family for a few days🤗🤗.
I also posted this passage in my quotations, and I will see it occasionally when I read it.
This sentence "I don't persist because I see hope, but because I persist, I see hope" resonates with me very much. I feel that in many cases, things need to be worked hard and done first, and the road will slowly take shape. Hope will be slowly shaped.
I have a conservative personality. I used to think that we had to draw up a complete set of perfect plans, calculated the success rate, and chose to do it when we thought it would be successful. As a result, no matter how we deduce it, we could not be sure that the path we chose would be successful in the end. And I would be stuck there at a loss, unable to make a decision. For a long time, my life lost direction because of this, because I felt that every road was not sure of success, and there was no "hope", so I just sat there and didn't know where to go.
So when I saw this sentence at that time, I had a feeling of "and then it hit me". The thing is to start first, and then you have to persist before you can see hope. It is like a dark tunnel of unknown length. You have to start walking before you can see the exit with shining lights in the distance.
Last year when Hong Kong was anti-extradition, a friend of mine in Hong Kong also told me that they had no hope. I also sent this sentence to her, hoping that she could also gain strength from this sentence.
This sentence has changed my way of thinking and mentality. I am also working hard for certain things and life goals in my life now. Sometimes when I am confused or uneasy, I will think about this sentence, encourage myself, and encourage myself.
I can just take advantage of the Matters Gold Sentence Post event to share this sentence that has influenced me a lot these days and gave me strength. I hope it can also give you strength when you are confused and lost.
Like my work? Don't forget to support and clap, let me know that you are with me on the road of creation. Keep this enthusiasm together!
