"I just can't help laughing": a relaxing choice

Hou Wenyong is one of my favorite writers.

I used to read his "Little Hospital, Big Doctor" and I was very moved by the content. Although his novels don't have much literary flavor, I have always believed that novels that can touch people are good novels.

His works are not only touching but also often hilarious. I think I tried watching him in "Made in Heaven" and laughed out loud. A book that makes people laugh may be harder to write than a novel that makes people laugh.

I have bought almost all of his books, but I don’t read them as soon as I buy them. For example, I have put this book “I Just Can’t Help Laughing” for many years before reading it. Although I have been reading more frequently recently, I have to clear out the books I bought. Reading is not easy either, because the more I buy, the more I buy, and I keep borrowing books from the library, so my to-read list is always growing.

I don't often read prose, but Hou Wenyong's prose is easy to make people laugh and is a must-read for me.

"I Just Can't Help Laughing" mostly talks about the trivial matters in the author's daily life or the people and things he encounters, like an old friend telling you interesting things about life. Among them, the most impressive thing must be his love troubles and The sophistry of love is written very interestingly, and the conversations between the author and his wife are often hilarious.

In addition to humor everywhere, the book does not forget to bring up many "questions", such as whether it is better to lose or win in love? Is it really good to have everything you wish for come true? Sometimes he will be very persistent in analyzing some things that ordinary people take for granted. The angle he puts forward can also make us think about whether we sometimes take it too much for granted.

I can’t say I’m recommending this book. Anyway, it’s just a leisure read. It’s enough to make you feel better after reading it.
