348. You have a mission that has been waiting for you
Here's a parable: Someone asked three cement workers: What are you doing?
- i'm laying bricks
- I am building a church
- I am building the temple of God
The first cement worker has a job, the second has a job, and the third has a mission (zhiye)
Everyone wants to find their own mission, but most people stay in the first two states and feel like social animals all day long
Working on a 12-hour night shift for 16 days in a row is incredible when I think about it, but I have never complained about being tired. Maybe this is the sense of mission.
I choose to turn stress into power, tension into excitement, and let the adrenaline take me to fly
What do you think are the definitions of job, career and mission?
Let's see what Yale University has to say. The following is especially annotated with Maslow's Pyramid
- Work: I feel like my work is just a necessary part of life, like breathing or sleep, which is clearly a physiological need (the lowest level)
- Occupation: I see work as a surefire way to other opportunities, favoring love and belonging needs and a little self-actualization
- Aspiration (mission): My work is one of the most important things in life, which is the highest level of self-actualization needs
I have struggled for a while, should I do my homework or slash?
Pharmacist and writing are my mission, trading used to be my profession, and finally I chose to give up trading
Maybe I missed the fortune, but that's not what I want
What I want is to rely on investment to accomplish a bigger cause and help more people
Many people are in work mode, but they never thought that work could become a mission, or that work could become leisure, so he was depressed for many years.
Can't find the meaning of life, it will make you spin around the lower limit of meeting your physiological needs (waiting for a salary every month)
Who doesn't want pleasure, but we're all more eager to be needed, and that's why we crave meaning in life
How do you find your mission?
Please start to experience life slowly, start with cultivating interests, this is like a blind date, you will find a partner who will never leave, or maybe your dream lover is right next to your pillow (current/past work, it always beside you calling you
But if your job really doesn't make you happy, it's better to change a pot (environment) as soon as possible to think about where your mission is.
Now ask yourself:
What are you doing?
Like my work? Don't forget to support and clap, let me know that you are with me on the road of creation. Keep this enthusiasm together!
