Matters Discord Since its official launch in March 2022, it has accumulated 4924 members. Matters Discord is open and everyone can click to join. The purpose of Discord is to establish a Web3 learning base and hope that everyone can communicate on different issues.

Architecturally, Discord has a Web3 text channel for information exchange; a leisurely text channel for talking about daily life, scenery, and gossip; a voice channel for holding AMAs and taking Web3 classes; and it also has a dual-track incentive system that automatically calculates points and accumulates tokens in exchange for With gifts, we hope to reward an active and supportive community beyond daily interactions. Web3 course, AMA

Discord is where Web3 classes and AMAs are held.

The purpose of holding Web3 classes is to learn different Web3 topics together to keep up with trends. Topics include De-Fi, DAO, Tokenomics, Blockchain, etc.; the purpose of holding AMA is to get to know more project parties on the market and understand each Market planning, rapid developments and their thoughts.

In 2022, we will hold Web3 classes every Friday morning at 11 a.m. We have held 50 classes so far, lasting more than 75 hours, with more than 1,500 participants. Matt Universe Pilot (Moderator)

Discord has recruited four "Matt Universe Pilots" this year, also known as moderators, responsible for channels such as "Web3 World", "Cryptocurrency", "NFT Discussion Forum", and "DAO Autonomy". Past and current moderators include Denken , @readbigeng, @CrypToN3, @Ricky Wang 💜, @Robert, thank them. They all signed up voluntarily and were voted on by Discord members, subject to community supervision.

Their main daily work is to build the community: share the ever-changing and high-quality Web3 information and dynamics, answer novice questions, produce daily or weekly reports, initiate activities, etc. The moderators have launched about 20 activities this year, including various types of essay solicitations, They have held many activities such as quiz games, community voting and article recommendations, some of which can be found here . Irregular community activities

A forum that everyone can open

Discord officially launched the "Forum" function in September. Users can set up forums (i.e. chat channels) based on their interests and areas they want to share, and publish messages and topics. This function uses the Matters community to create more interactions and even generate special culture.

With the emergence of forums, we have observed that in addition to Matters administrators opening channels, users can also open, publish, and manage them themselves. In many cases, forums are more active than fixed channels opened in the early days. In the past 28 days, there have been nearly 1,500 messages on the forum. We are very happy to see this kind of spontaneous participation.

Incentive system: points system and Matters Coin

With the community, we also hope to appropriately reward active and mutually helpful members so that users can get some rewards for their efforts. In this case, we have introduced a dual-track points system.

The first one is the monthly star points system , which uses SourceCred to calculate Bots, and digitally calculate each person's message, the response and interaction level of others to the message, and identify members who communicate effectively and contribute. The top three places each month will receive prizes of varying levels.

The purpose is to welcome everyone to visit Discord, experience the token economic model, and participate in the community.

After several months, our reflection is that although this is not a sophisticated token economy, nor a carefully designed circular ecology, it can go deep into the community and support each other. We have allocated part of our monthly budget to purchase-friendly Partners’ projects, such as Writing NFT by high-quality authors, physical self-designed gifts by MattersNews creators (user Axian’s rabbit desk calendar) , personal NFT projects by experienced users, etc., allow everyone to exchange tokens for purchases and join in supporting each other’s projects.
