Do you have to go to the gym? Monthly fee system VS single charge, which one is right for you?
I just moved to my current residence before the epidemic, and my exercise habits were disrupted. On the way back to my mother’s house for dinner, I opened a chain gym with only fitness equipment and no classrooms. The monthly fee is lower than that of the same chain gym with classrooms in previous years. Hundreds of dollars. At the same time, because of the need for swimming, it was also in the direction of the road, and there was a private former municipal sports field and swimming pool outside the Kaohsiung City Government, so I overlapped the chain monthly fee system and the government outsourcing order for a month. Gym membership for a fee. (Swim 1,000 meters and play fitness equipment for half an hour to an hour.)
Unexpectedly, the epidemic began to spread. I used to exercise every day, because I didn’t want to be quarantined, so I automatically didn’t go into places where there were many people and there was a possibility of physical contact. In the meantime, the gyms in Taiwan were closed for two or three months (the monthly fee system is not deducted), but because of the wave after wave of the epidemic, by the time I could finally terminate my membership, it had already been a whole month. year and a half. For the past year and a half, I have seen my credit card debited every month, but I don't want to go in because of the epidemic.
The first time I stepped into the Zhongshan Sports Center at the back of Nanjing West Road in Taipei more than ten years ago, I began to look forward to "When will Kaohsiung have such a sports venue?" I still didn't learn, and I continued to play fitness equipment and treadmills several times.
In terms of "sports", the venue is very important. It is very important to be used to, along the way, and to feel comfortable in a venue , especially for some people like me who often feel awkward in crowded occasions or have trouble with the comfort of certain processes and venues. A fixed venue" is even more difficult than "getting up and exercising every day"! (If you figure this out, you will find that "it's not that I don't want to exercise", but "I haven't found a place where I can exercise comfortably." If you find it, you will have the motivation to continue!)
When I was a teenager, there was a covered municipal basketball court next to the Kaohsiung Chung Cheng Sports Arena, but I was still used to playing in my own school. There were not many people and I didn’t have to shout play or wait in line for the court. I could have a great time. Just pitching. During that period, I would occasionally go to the original basketball court in Central Park, which has not been rebuilt to the MRT, to shout play with netizens on BBS. The winner can always continue on the same court, but this is more like a "competition" rather than a "fixed" exercise habits".
In recent years, Kaohsiung has successively outsourced the operation of municipal sports venues. From the outsourcing operation of the swimming pool that I have been swimming for three or four years, the former Fengshan Municipal Swimming Pool (and the venues built or redesigned next to it), as well as the Zhongzheng Sports Hall and surrounding sports venues have also been transformed into Lingya Sports Center. What I imagined during the Taipei Movement was really realized in Kaohsiung.
At first, the operation of the restructured and outsourced swimming pool did not meet expectations. In addition, I moved a little far away from that swimming pool, so I followed the staff of the original municipal swimming pool and switched to another municipal swimming pool for swimming.
I have to say that the public sector in Taiwan is not able to maintain so many sports venues for a long time. Many things are due to budgets and regulations. Usually, it is "seeking something" but not necessarily "seeking good" . There is no certain supervision and quality control, and sometimes it is even worse than the public sector's own operation, so it is also an inevitable choice to enter a chain gym with a monthly fee system.
However, the monthly fee-based chain gyms are really not suitable for those who do not have the habit of exercising every day or who are just beginning to explore what kind of exercise is suitable for them. As mentioned earlier, half of the exercise habits need to be established in the field of "making yourself comfortable". For people who have not yet established exercise habits themselves, they often start to pay for a month and then they will find that "Ah I really don't want to go!" "Ah! But the money has been paid, so I should go!"
Don't think like this: "If you pay, you will definitely force yourself to go." This is a marketing rhetoric . Most people spend a few hundred yuan a month, but in fact they only go there less than ten times. The cost is about 60 to 100 yuan.
During the epidemic, many people shared the method of exercising at home. If you don't want to practice "big muscles", or lose your body fat so thin that it looks like you are going to a bodybuilding competition, seriously, "you don't need to go to the gym at all." Use those equipment", simple dumbbells, elastic bands, or even no equipment, to maintain a good exercise habit. (Going to the gym! Sometimes there's some kind of noble feint)
Due to the need for swimming, the general chain gyms really don't meet my needs (I like swimming with cold water outside and the standard water channel is 50m long), so I have to go back to the site where the original municipal swimming pool was outsourced.
In recent years, Kaohsiung municipal sports venues have been continuously renovated and outsourced. These single-use charging methods are more suitable for people who do not exercise every day or have a variety of exercise habits.
for example,
You don’t need to be on a treadmill for running, and you can go out and step on a bicycle without a flywheel. Apart from “you need to use the fitness equipment that is fixed there”, you really don’t need to “just stay in the gym” when exercising every day. With the option of a single charge, the form of exercise is more diverse. The key point is to find a way of exercise that "you like", and you must start with "searching" first. It's not really "you pay, you will go to exercise" don't foolishly believe that "people can overcome their own inertia", and inertia often comes from not finding what suits you and what you like!
Because I like swimming, I went to other counties and cities to find friends to play. I also swam in Daan in Taipei, Zhongshan Sports Center, and the swimming pools in Yilan. In Kaohsiung, I swam in Qianzhen, Xinxing, Sanmin, Zhongzheng, Fengshan... If the monthly ticket is calculated as a monthly ticket, it is 30+2 yuan (2 yuan insurance). If it is outsourced, it is 90 yuan/time, and the monthly fee for adding a gym is 1500 yuan/month (1250 yuan if you do not add it). I can In terms of swimming and playing fitness equipment every day, the monthly subscription is very suitable for me, especially in July and August, the swimming pools are open longer than the public ones, and the time allocation is more free.
For people who "do not exercise every day", a single charge of 50 yuan/hr for a sports center outside the municipal government is sufficient. Going two or three times a week, or ten times a month, is also cheaper than going to a monthly gym, and you don’t have to be stupid and keep deducting money.
If there are several sports modes at the same time, there is no need to pay a monthly fee to use the retraining equipment, just go once in a while.
Yesterday I finally got rid of my membership that I haven't used for a year and a half, and then I went to pay for the whole month's swimming (I can swim every day), and I still skip 1000+ every day and watch TV at home with existing equipment. keep exercising
It's too hot now. When the temperature drops, you can cycle in the morning, swim in the afternoon, walk briskly and skip rope in the evening, and complete the triathlon in one day.
A friend said it very well: exercising in summer is cool, anyway, you will sweat when you stand, so why not exercise?
I mean, I should start a sports channel at all hahahahaha. When I think of anyone's "no perseverance" slap at me, I can't help but want to say, "Come on, let's compare! When you can exercise every day like me, you'll come back to this kind of shit."
